It appears as though "Big Country" has finally done what UFC President Dana White has long implored him to and dropped a few calories from that famous belly of his.

It was a necessary step in Nelson's career. Increasing heat from both his employers and his fans coupled with a two fight losing streak left him little choice in the matter. We'll see how much his new diet and training regimen has paid off when he squares off against Mirko Filipovic at UFC 137 this Sat., Oct. 29, 2011, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The gut's still there a good amount. There's just a kind of illusion going on. Look at the sweat trajectory on his shirt;
It starts at his chest, and when it gets down to belly-range, it is forced to the outside on both sides by the belly.
With that said, he has obviously lost a weight, regardless of whether or not there is remnants of the gut.

He will now have to change his nick name to just "Country"

He does look like he has trimmed up somewhat,
I'm excited to see what he brings on Saturday night.

Is it not commonly known that FOrrest Carries alot of weight going into fights,
I thought he was widely known as one of the larger LHW fighters. I had heard speculation
at one point in time that he walked around at 225lb of more. I guess it would depend heavily on whether or not he was training for a fight or not.

i remember sombody saying a while back that forrest walks around 240 on the off days.
judging by this pic, "country" is gonna come in at about 230-240 lbs

Yeah Forrest is enormous for LHW. he's just such a machine in every aspect of his training that he is able to cut/gain better than most.
