I was actually under the impression when watching the fight that it was more a scenario where he kinda quit because he was in so much pain from his nose getting destroyed right at the end there.

But yeah, this was one of the better top-to-bottom main cards I've seen in a while.
The MacDonald/Lawler fight was absolutely insane! I gotta give MacDonald credit for coming back from the initial onslaught and actually looking like he had Lawler in trouble at a few different points before Lawler rallied again.
It's looking like Lawler might be here to stay for a little while! I can't think of anyone off hand who could beat him right now with how good he's looked. Condit maybe???

I still can't fucking believe McGregor won!!
I really was giving him next to no shot to win this fight. I thought for sure that Mendes was gonna take him down at will. Then when McGregor stuffed the first takedown, I a had a little hope, but not much more than hope. I didn't think he was actually going to win right up until he blasted Mendes with that punch and then finished him off. Everyone in the room was jumping through the roof at the place where I was watching it. lol

Fucking great card. That's all I got to say about this one.
Lawler/MacDonald has to be a nomination for fight of the year, right??

Maybe I am in the minority, but I will be ranking McGregor above Aldo. I love how he just goes out there and fights. I hope he never changes..... even if he gets caught a few times along the way.

I agree with you all, great fucking card.

Mendes was doing good ,but it looked like McGregor's body shots were taking a toll on him. I genuinely am wondering though if they wouldn't have been such a dramatic effect if Mednes had a full camp though.

Lawler- MacDonald was pretty fucking even with both man taking and giving damage ,but Lawler is just so fucking powerful man. His resurgence is fucking insane and something I never saw coming, akin to RDA or Werdum becoming champ. I aslo think he's got that Tyron Woodley, Yoel Romero, Alistair Overeem type body where's he is powerful and explosive as fuck ,but will wear out quickly. He's learned to stay agressive while pacing himself though which is great.

Matt Brown looked good, it's weird that he's basically the 3rd best guy in the division right now.

And both of those flying knee ko's were beautiful.

i was away on vacation and came back on the 11th only to have my flight delayed and for the airline to screw up the luggage. i was supposed to be in my house around 1am and i didnt get there till 430. completely missed this card and im so pissed.

1. i think lawler/rory fight was insane. the stare down after the ending of the 4th round was crazy. so much respect for both of those guys.
2. conor will give aldo a strong run for his money but i think edgar beats conor pretty easily. i also think mendes with a full camp takes conor out also.
3.why was matt brown on the prelims??
4. that shot brad pickett took should be the end of his career. he is 36 and has been through many wars. its not worth it at this stage. hang em up
5.i want to see a jeremy stephens and bermudez rematch

Yeah that poor bastard. He got punched in the eye, held his nose, then held his head and dropped. You could tell so many synopses were firing at once his body didn't know what hurt more and just shut down.

In this gif it almost looks like the woman put the thing on his face and it caused his body to go into shock and shut down again from the pain. Jeeze...
