Shane Carwin injures knee, forced out of TUF 16 Finale against Roy Nelson

Dana White probably hit the nail right on the head, and it's something he's far too used to.

"It never ends," the UFC president said in a Wednesday post on Twitter announcing the latest injury to blindside the promotion a short time before a main event: Shane Carwin is injured and out of his fight against Roy Nelson.

Carwin (12-2 MMA, 4-2 UFC) and Nelson (17-7 MMA, 4-3 UFC) were scheduled to meet in the main event of the TUF 16 Finale a month from now in Las Vegas.

The TUF 16 Finale takes place Dec. 15 at The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. The main card airs on FX.

White said on Twitter that Carwin blew out his knee and that the promotion has already begun seeking a new opponent to face Nelson on the card. Carwin and Nelson coached opposite each other on the current 16th season of "The Ultimate Fighter," which taped over the summer and currently airs on Friday nights on FX.

Carwin, a former interim UFC heavyweight champion, was going to be fighting for the first time in 18 months. He's been sidelined with back and neck injuries and subsequent surgeries. Now he can add a knee injury to his list of recent ailments. There was no immediate word just how severe the injury is or whether it will require surgery, so Carwin's new timetable for a return is unknown.

His last victory came at UFC 111 with a first-round knockout of Frank Mir that took his record to 12-0 with 12 first-round stoppages. He won the interim title in that fight, and then met Brock Lesnar for the undisputed belt at UFC 116. After a dominant first round against the champ, Carwin gassed

I just had a thought. Seeing we know danas love for Nelson, what if he made Nelson and Overeem? Overeem would probably ko nelson and nothing would make dana happier than seeing Roy get knocked out.
