Jardine returning to Strikeforce this December, moving to middleweight

Jardine revealed the December booking on his personal website over the weekend, though no opponent has yet been determined.

A staple in the UFC for almost five years after a stint on The Ultimate Fighter, Jardine was released in mid-2010 following his fourth straight loss in the organization. He added a fifth straight loss in September of last year to Trevor Prangley before winning two in a row and getting a booking in Strikeforce.

In his Strikeforce debut in April, Jardine fought to a draw with former Strikeforce Light Heavyweight Champion Gegard Mousasi.

Though no opponent has been announced for his return, Jardine has expressed interest in a fight with former Strikeforce Middleweight Champion Cung Le.

Penick's Analysis: Jardine's never been a small guy at 205 lbs., so if he can make the cut he's sure to be a large fighter at middleweight. I'm interested to see what he can do at 185 lbs., and if he gets the fight he's asked for with Cung Le it could certainly be an interesting bout.

Is it just me or would Le vs Jardine just look weird.... IDK about this... Keith seems like a massive dude for that weight class, but I guess if he can make the cut and still stay healthy all the power to him.

Jardine would look weird in any fight at 185, IMO.

I just don't know how strong he can be at MW, and it's not like he has fast hands for a 205er. He's gonna look even slower at the lower weight.

I'm just not sold on this at all.

I like Jardine, he's starting to drop these days so it might be a head issue. I'd like to see him try the weight class, he'd have my vote (and standard cash) and I'd give him a fair chance at middleweight.

I am with ya on that. I always like the dean of mean, i hope he can come in as a new and improved fighter.

Hopefully if he drops a weight class he's going to be fighting guys that don't hit as hard as 205ers. His chin has been his biggest problem lately so a drop in weight might help.
