T.J. Dillashaw wants fellow UFC champ Aldo if McGregor can't beat Siver

A combination of circumstances is pushing UFC bantamweight champ T.J. Dillashaw to propose a featherweight title shot against champ Jose Aldo.

“Now would be the time, because I don’t have anyone to fight,” he told MMAjunkie Radio.

Very recently, the list of viable contenders for Dillashaw (11-2 MMA, 7-2 UFC) has dwindled when former champ Dominick Cruz (20-1 MMA, 3-0 UFC) suffered another ACL injury and top bantamweight Rafael Assuncao (23-4 MMA, 7-1 UFC) suffered a broken ankle that will take him out of fighting for the next few months.

The turn of events suggested Dillashaw’s only logical title challenger might be ex-champ Renan Barao (33-2 MMA, 8-2 UFC), whom he beat this past May to win the belt. Although the two were set for a rematch in August at UFC 177, Barao was scratched from the event just 24 hours beforehand when he wasn’t medically cleared to fight.

Easy there little fella. You have one title defense in your own division against a guy who wasn't even ranked in the top 5 and took the fight on extremely short notice.
I don't think you're in any position to be calling for title fights in other weight classes.

No in all seriousness I would have less of a problem with it if aldo didnt have other guys to fight, but he does so no.

I'd rather see Jon Dodson move back up to 135 and left-hook the piss out of Dillashaw again.

Would be interesting. Dillishaw is much improved since that fight imo.

Dillishaw is like Mighty Mouse for me I wasn't too aware/impressed with him ,but he's really impressed me his last few fights. I like it when people (especially champions) are constanly going for the finish, even in the later rounds.

He was 1-1 in his last two going into the title fight. He obviously beat Barao, but other than that, he really hasn't beaten anybody of note.
I need to see him win a rematch against Barao or beat some other top 5 opponent before I can even start taking him seriously as a champ.

Yeah but you are a seasoned fan. What about the eye test? He looked friggin awesome to me against Barao. If he just went in there and cracked him I would be questioning, but I thought his footwork and hands looked sooooo improved.

Meh, Aldo has crushed everyone at 145, I don't think a recently improved 135er has much of a shot against him. I would rather see Aldo take on some LWs, what ever happened to the Aldo vs Pettis fight?

Meh, I don't see anything overly impressive when watching him fight. His foot work is better than average, but to me he's just another wrestler who shored up his boxing game. The recent history of MMA is filled with guys like him who came and went overnight without making any kind of lasting impact on the sport.
IMO there's a hundred TJ Dillashaws in the lighter weight classes right now.

Damnit! That's discouraging lol. I almost always agree with you, so now I feel like I have to go back and watch his Barao again and see if my mind just has some revisionist history going on or not lol. I could of swore while I was watching that fight I was thinking he was so much better it was almost unrecognizable like he was floating around like Ali lol (ok maybe not that good).

Well to be fair, I'm most definitely in the minority on this one; everyone seems to think he's the 2nd coming of Roy Jones Jr., but I just need to see a little more before I get too carried away.
