Undefeated Khabib Nurmagomedov has been having trouble finding an opponent as of late. Since defeating Pat Healy via unanimous decision at UFC 165 it seems that no one is game enough to step up. Former Strikeforce champion Gilbert Melendez was originally scheduled to fight Nurmagomedov at UFC 170, but Melendez called it off soon after. “We asked for Nate’s contract to be redone, the UFC turned it down,” Kogan said. “We asked for a change to his contract, and changes to when the fight takes place. They said no and we said no thanks.”
Kogan was obviously irritated by the direction this went criticizing the UFC’s professionalism.
“This is supposed to be a professional sport but then this resorts to these Twitter wars,” Kogan said. “This isn’t a street fight, it’s a professional sport. If it’s a street fight and they want to see who the better man is they know where the f**k Nate is, and then we can see who is the better man.”

Nate wanting to  change an already signed contract is indeed turning the fight down. Once you put your name on the paper it means that you agreed to whats on the paper. Just cause you want little yellow M&M's in your dressing room and only fight on Tuesdays doesn't mean you get to change the fact you already have a signed contract.

Its not the UFC thats turning down the fight or "wanting to redo the contract" its Kogan and as Dana says the  "Coward" Diaz. All the UFC did was offer him a fight .... why is the fight not happening? Diaz.
Simple.

I think the issue is with what was said/left unsaid. There is an implication that Nate didn't want to fight Khabib, where in truth it appears that Nate wouldn't have fought anybody in the current situation.
 
I thought it was pretty obvious what the beef was about.

So let me get this straigh (hypothetically).

I am not happy with my $5 per fight fighting contract. I am wanting to make more money, and am looking to negotiate.

Now I am offered to fight Khabib, and I say no because I want a better contract.
Then the UFC calls me a coward and tweets that I turned down the fight.

That's a pretty interesting spin.
