just wondering if anybody else is thinking this too.....im a bit concerned that with all the hype and evrybody already in halls ear telling him things like hes a contenter and going to be a special kind of fighter etc. etc. without having his 1st fight under his belt, could it be a bad thing......now if he's focused enough and level headed enough to look at things 1 fight at a time and KEEP TRAINING HARD, dont let all the praise lull him into relying on his tallent over hard work and dicipline, i think he'll be fine. Another concern i have comes into play this weekends fight, we havent seen much of him on the ground and im pretty sure thats where kelvin is going to try to take it asap(which is why im almost inclined to put a hefty bet on kelvin)

All that said, i think he's a beast and could very well be a contender and future champ.....just think he needs to be tested on the ground by a top notch sub guy to see if he really is the complete package.

I agree with you. We've seen this time and time and time again where someone appears to be completely unstoppable until we see them outside their element. Or for that matter, we don't even know how he looks when he's punched...maybe he's like Brock Lesnar and gets spastic when he sees his own blood.

The guy looks like a beast, but yeah, we've yet to see him tested.

Well, his only two losses are to Chri Weidman and Costa Phillipou. Weidman TKO'd him in the first, while Costa beat him by decision.
That tells me that yes; his ground game is (or at least was at one point) suspect,
and no; getting hit won't make him panic. Phillipou is a guy who will put hands on you early and often, so if Hall was gonna fold, it would have happened against Costa. I'll see if I can find the videos so we can see ow things went down.

With that said, I wouldn't be shocked if he falls flat in the UFC. Dana has already fogotten more about MMA than I will ever know, but evaluating talent on TUF seems to be a weakness of his. He is notorious for mistaking top-level talent for scrubs (Rashad Evans) and thinking mediocre fighters (CB Dolloway) are future stars.

I would honestly not be shocked to see Kelvin finish Hall. I'm finished with doubting Kelvin.

Couldn't fing Hall vs Phillipou, but I looked it up and he lost a majority decision to Costa. Here's Hall vs Weidman.

Hall avoids a few takedowns, gets back to his feet after finally being taken down, and eventually gets caught with a solid punch by Weidman and dropped. He keeps his wits about him, but Weidman is all over him and the ref stops the fight after a bunch of unanswered punches.
Try to ignore the insanely annoying Long Island guy recording the fight

I would really like Hall to throw some more combinations. I don't think I've seen him throw more than two punches at a time yet. Usually it's just a single big hook or leg kick at a time.
