Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) middleweight champion Anderson Silva has already confirmed he will be in attendance in Montreal, Quebec, Canada on Nov. 17, 2012 to take in the UFC 154 festivities.
Specifically, the main event which will pit welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre taking on interim champion Carlos Condit in a title unification match. It's no secret "The Spider" wants to challenge "Rush" in a much anticipated super fight, win or lose, against "The Natural Born Killer."
As if "GSP" isn't under enough pressure in facing a very formidable
opponent in Condit after such a long layoff, UFC president Dana White
just might have turned up the heat a little bit more.
Speaking at today's (Nov. 7, 2012) UFC 154 media conference call
White revealed that not only will his 185-pound champion be in
attendance, front row, rooting for St. Pierre, but he believes Anderson
will actually challenge the French-Canadian inside the Octagon after the
match:
"There's no doubt Anderson Silva (is) showing up to cheer Georges
St-Pierre on, and he wants him to win this fight. He wants to fight him
after. So I would say yes (he will challenge him in the cage)."
How's that for added pressure?
As if he didn't have enough to worry about in Condit trying to knock
his block off, Georges now knows in advance that perhaps the greatest
mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter to ever live will be waiting to lay

I can't imagine White would let that happen unless it was already discussed with GSP and he plans to accept.
Pretty shitty otherwise to shit on someone's thunder after a title defense. | |

| I don't see that happening.
He's not the kind of guy to walk into the cage and literally challenge GSP right then and there. That's not his style at all. He's not BJ Penn.
I could definitely see Dana forcing the issue, though. It absolutely would not even be close to the first time he brought someone into the cage to challenge a fighter immediately after a title defense (Evans, BJ, Shogun, GSP, and on and on and on....) | |

That's the thing. The only way this happens if it's entirely orchestrated by Dana and both parties are on board with it. It's not like any fighter is allowed to come in the ring after a fight. So then it would be Dana raining on GSP's parade, not Silva, right? | |

| I don't really mean it that way.
Kind of like talking to both sides before hand and making sure they are both ok with the matchup. Then letting Silva come in after the fight and make the big challenge where of course GSP accepts and they kick off the promotion of this super fight with a bang with millions watching.
Everyone wins in this scenario as pretty sure GSP/Silva will have PPV bonuses for the superfight. | |
