- October 29 will prove an enormously important date for the welterweight
division after the UFC officially confirmed that Carlos Condit will meet the legendary BJ Penn at UFC 137.
Quite simply, October has become a month not to be missed. Matchmaker Joe Silva has put together a stacked UFC 136 featuring two championship fights, and that Houston event will be equalled for sheer quality by UFC 137 in Las Vegas.
The headline act is UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre's superfight with Strikeforce king Nick Diaz. Prior to that showdown, Mirko Cro Cop could be fighting his last fight against Roy Nelson in the heavyweight division, which also features a huge-hitting slugfest between Matt Mitrione and Cheick Kongo.
The card also boasts the UFC debut of No. 2-rated featherweight Hatsu Hioki, as well as an explosive lightweight battle between Dennis Siver and Sam Stout.
However, the co-main event has only just been confirmed, with the winner of Carlos Condit and BJ Penn more-than-likely to get the next title shot in the welterweight division. Condit is coming off Knockout of the Night wins over Dan Hardy and Dong Hyun Kim, while Penn has beaten Matt Hughes and drawn with Jon Fitch in his last two fights.
The rest at: http://www.espn.co.uk/ufc/sport/story/101230.html WOW! This card is going to be amazing if no one get injured... knock on wood. Im pumped to see every fight announced so far! I don't think there has ever been a card that I could say that about before. | |

| Yea, this is a must-get card. War Penn/GSP! Though, if the #1 contender is the winner of Penn/Condit, I'd like to see Diaz/BJ the most of all the possible match-ups | |
