TUF episode 3/30 *spoilers*

Thoughts on the episode and fight?

My DVR cut out after the second round so I didn't see the 3rd...but in my opinion Iaquinta got lucky...I thought it was a pretty cut and dry win for Cruz' guy. He got some nice takedowns his striking looked much better and he was fighting the smarter fight. I thought for sure that huge takedown at the end of rd 2 sealed the deal.

I just hate when a guy like Iaquinta is so positive and talks so much crap about how he's gonna bring it the whole time and how he's been in more wars and will make this one a war and he does nothing...just stalks the guy for 2 rounds and waits for one big shot. Boring.

I watched most of the episode but only got to watch until after the 1st round (had to go out).
I'm gonna catch a replay and see how the results went down.

I only caught the second half of round 2, and all of round 3.

I think the other guy's last name was Jyles? From what I saw, he looked tired and was backpedaling most of the time I was watching. He kept trying knees and punches that were mostly completely missing. I started watching just as Jyles clipped Iaquinta with a bit of a backfist and wobbled him, but as Jyles came charging in he got clipped a couple times back and the fight seemed to go Iaquinta's way after that.

As for the takedown in the second round, I really hate that those get scored so highly. There's almost no time on the clock and nothing happens afterwards, but the fighters expect that to win them the round.

For some reason I couldn't remember his name either...just looked it up, it's Miles Jury...so you kinda sorta had it haha.

I thought Jury's takedown was far more impressive than anything Iaquinta did for 2 full rounds.
All Iaquinta did was stalk Jury for two rounds looking for the home run...he wasn't jabbing he wasn't throwing any kicks, wasn't going for any takedowns, he had no decent footwork, he was just flat footed lurching forward and it wasn't until Jury rocked him with a punch that he instinctively threw back and landed an opposing punch.

Jury on the other hand was using his footwork, throwing jabs, throwing kicks and attempting takedowns. I thought he plainly and clearly won both rounds...especially the 2nd round.

I suppose I wouldn't be so hard on Iaquinta if it wasn't for how he talked about his experience and how he's been in "wars" and Jury hasn't and the fact that Faber's team expected Jury to try to just get the decision like he did to get in the house...looked to me like Iaquinta was playing the decision card pretty hard too. Plus the fact that he was Faber's #1 pick and he performed so mediocre.

Can't really say yet since I only saw the first 2 minutes of round 3 before my dvr cut out. I thought Jury squeaked out the 1st round. I thought Iaquinta won the second easy. Looked like Iagunita was the better fighter from what I saw in the 3rd round.
Just felt Iaquinta was never in danger. On the flip side, Jury took the more devastating blows and looked to be the one covering up more often while Iaquinta was throwing heavy shots. Iaquinta also landed some nice body kicks and some head kicks, although blocked had Jury's arms slamming into his head pretty good.

Agree, I hate the takedown with 10 seconds to go in a round.

Yeh I Just saw the fight. Split Decision for Al Iaquitna was not too far off. Myles Jury... actually I like Jyles better lol... Jyles would have secured the win if he did more to add to the takedown to the 2nd round. In the 3rd round, Iaquinta sneaked it by , but not by much though because nothing really happened in the 3rd.

Anyways, to the next fight.
