| What did everyone think of the episode. I guess I'll skip right to the fight. What a borefest. Cameron looked like he'd rather be picking flowers in a field and all Neil could do was throw jabs from the outside. I was solidly bored the whole time. I was really thinking Cameron had something to offer, but man he looked awful...and on the flipside I thought maybe Neil would come out throwing some bombs and really take it to Cameron...but..well...no. He just jabbed him from the outside and IMO won a reasonably boring decision.

| I think the biggest problem with that fight is Cameron is really one dementional. He is jitz guy and a jitz coach and thats all he really wanted to rely on. His stand up looked horrible and with some one who trains with the diaz brother i would have figured the kid has some good boxing atleast. His take downs were pretty bad too and lacked any will to capitolize. I will say I think Neil has some pretty good sub defense to him. He may get put in a bad position but he knows how to get out of it prettty well to. It was a bad choice for nelson to pair those 2. Hate to say it but our guy Colt( who was helping preparing cameron) would have been a better match up for nelson.Dont get me wrong it would be a lay and pray but i could see colt taking him down at will and holding him there.Neil doesnt have good take down defense any good solid wrestler has a shot at this kid. | |

| I just got around to watching this today. I agree with Gecko a good wrestler could have taken Niel down and maybe got a TKO or in the least ground him out for the UD. Instead we got stuck with a BJJ player in an MMA fight... but apparently forgot it was an MMA match... But if Cameron gets some stand up going... or even a better wrestling game incorporate with his BJJ, he could be a huge threat.
I don't think Niel Magny makes it past the next round.

| Imo it could be summarized as Nelson being a moron.
Wtf was he thinking with this matchup? It was totally and completely unfair to Cameron and as it stood was a retarded idea on his part.
Let's not even talk about this specific matchup, but why would you put your most one dimensional guy in the first fight of the season after two days of training. The guy is awesome on the ground and has shit standup. Why not spend as much time as possible training him on his weaknesses? I could see if Carwin scheduled this fight to try and get him before he improved, but not his own coach.
Just dumb. | |

Just dumb. This. (Well said) The episode itself has set the ground work for and entertaining season in the house imo, I can`t wait to see some of the more dynamic devastating fighters improve and start fighting. I think what Dana`s said about the teams being uneven is clearly apparent; Carwin`s team is going to be much better imo. We`re going to have a run by team Carwin similar to the Rashad and Rampage season.
