Jon Jones’ hoopla train pulled into the Pepsi Center in Colorado on Saturday night and Quinton “Rampage” Jackson (Pictured) got a first-hand look at its magnificence. Rampage may have questioned the light heavyweight champion’s game prior to their shootout in Denver, but “Bones” provided all the answers, and then some, once UFC 135 wrapped.
“[I’m not] a sore loser,” Jackson said at the post-fight press conference. “I thought I’d be really mad, especially after [Jones] did what he said he was going to do and finished me. I gained a lot of respect for Jones.
“I thought he was hype, but he’s good. He fought me and did some great stuff. I don’t see anybody beating Jones.”
Up next for the 24-year-old is Rashad Evans, a fellow former champ that Rampage has also had a beef with in the past. While he believes “Suga” has a shot at dethroning the youngster, it’s not a very good one.
“I think Rashad is the only one who has a chance to beat him,” Jackson expressed. “He trained with him and so he knows, but I don’t see anybody beating [Jones]. Straight up. I take my hat off to him.”
As far as Rampage’s immediate agenda goes, he would like to head to the Orient and lock horns with the last man (prior to Jones) to finish him in a professional fight. Unfortunately for the 33-year-old, Mauricio “Shogun” Rua’s dance card is filled courtesy of a UFC 139 scrap with Dan Henderson.
“It would be very special [to me]. I have a lot of respect for Shogun,” Jackson shared. “I didn’t know he was fighting Henderson, but it would be a dream come true.
“That’s been one that’s haunted me for a long time. So I want to rematch Shogun in Japan.”
Shogun posted a devastating TKO victory over Rampage at “Pride: Total Elimination 2005.”
The Sauce 'Page is right about this one. Hard to see any threat to Jones.... only Spider Silva

| Good by Rampage. A lot of guys would have/ could have bitched and complained. Sounds to me like Rampage wants to get a few more high profile fights before he calls it a career.
I got Rampage fighting 3 more times before he hangs up the gloves. He just sounds content to me. I don't know....

| Yeah, props to Jackson.
I had no idea what excuse he was going to use, especially after all the supposed low blows he took during the fight.
Glad he manned up. | |
