I just saw an updated article that said he started feeling really bad in March while in Germany. That's not long after his last fight.
It's been well documented that DaDa 5000 nearly died in that fight, but it's also common knowledge that the fight was a display of all-time horrible cardio by both fighters.

I can't help but wonder if Kimbo had a mild heart attack in that fight that started a fatal chain reaction and just didn't know it until it was already too late.

there was definitely something up in that fight. kimbo never had a gas tank but that fight was unusual even for kimbo. could you imagine if it was documented that both of the fighters in bellators main event suffered from heart attacks during their fight. whats the odds on that?

That's not a crazy thought. It's not like all heart attacks are easily detectable. There is certainly a range of severity in heart attacks.

My guess is these guys are just hopped up on so many stimulants that their hearts just can't take it anymore.

Heart disease plugs up your heart as time goes on. Little by little so you don't feel or accept the changes you are going on inside your little pump. Steroids, bacon, beer and watching too much NFL on the couch all contribute...... then your heart is full of shit and its too late.

I'll guarantee you that if they open up Kimbo's heart it will be just chock full of crap. A heart attack only happens when some of that shit breaks loose.

I don't think Kimbo could ever admit to himself that he was done, needed to slow down eat a bit healthier and stop roiding up.

Kimbo needed a heart transplant? They had him on a wait list but his heart collapsed first.

Kimbo Slice was told by doctors that he needed a heart transplant in the days before his death Monday, according to a report Tuesday afternoon from the Sun Sentinel in Florida.

Slice was in the process of being transferred to a facility in Cleveland where he'd be put on an organ donors list when he died at around 7:30 p.m. local time Monday, per a report sent from the hospital to the Broward County Medical Examiner's office and obtained by the paper.

Slice, whose real name is Kevin Ferguson, had been at Northwest Medical Center in Margate, Fla., for three days. He was admitted June 3 after complaining of severe abdominal pain, shortness of breath and nausea, the Sun Sentinel reported. Ferguson was diagnosed with congestive heart failure and a liver mass and was placed on a ventilator in intensive care.

Report: No signs of heart issues in Kimbo Slice's Bellator 149 medicals

According to a published report, Kimbo Slice's Bellator 149 prefight medicals showed no signs of a heart condition.

Bellator officials told TMZ.com that Slice, who died of heart failure Monday at age 42, passed all his tests leading up to his infamous Feb. 19 fight against Dada 5000 in Houston, including physical exams, EKG, and EEG testing.




"If there was any sign that Kimbo was not healthy enough to fight, we would not have allowed him to fight," an unnamed Bellator official told TMZ. "All of [Slice's] physicals were passed" ... the [medical documents] are in the possession of the Texas Dept. of Licensing and Regulation."

The TDLR has long been criticized as one of the most lax state combat sports commissions in the country. Slice won the bout via third-round TKO, but Dada 5000, real name Dhafir Harris nearly died in the aftermath, as he suffered cardiac arrest and needed to be revived.

Tuesday, it was reported Slice needed a heart transplant and was waiting to be transported to a Cleveland facility where he'd be put on a waiting list.
