Tate beats Holm

Well this one should mess up the MMA math experts. Why Holly couldn't get it done with Tate is a bit of a question. My belief holds true, You're not the champ until you defend the title.

But at the end of the day Holly got caught in a desperation submission, she was winning the fight on a slim edge but giving up the RNC.

Krieger prediction? Rousey beats Tate with armbar again, regains title, loses it to Holm again, Tate and Holm fight again and Tate gets title back.....

Kinda like a washing machine going round and round.

I was not surprised at all, as mentioned in threads months ago.

Holm posed as a poor matchup for Rousey. However, Holm has never looked like a world beater until she fought Rousey, and has been in trouble several other times against MUCH less fighters than Rousey or Tate. Take the Pennington fight that she won by the skin of her teeth by split decision.

Let's be honest, Rousey is the ONLY name on Holm's resume.
it's a big name, but careful anointing anyone over ONE great win.

I think Rousey/Tate III will go to Rousey via decision. I see Rousey being much more conservative this time around as to not get caught. Same as Tate trying to avoid the ground.

I'd like to see Nunez fight Holm next.
What is Zingano's deal? Have not heard a peep out of her for over a year.

Yeah I think a lot of us here in particular were kind of suggesting everyone pump the brakes a bit on the Holm Train because Tate is certainly no slouch.
I said it before; Tate is probably a better all around martial artist than Rousey, but Rousey is just so good at a few things that it negates Tate's whole game.

I'd really rather see Rousey/Holm 2 to determine who gets the shot at the belt to be honest, because like Krieger said, we could be looking at a roundabout situation here if Ronda beats Tate for the title (she will) and Holm beats whoever she fights next (she will).

I thought I got an ESPN text alert quoting Dana on Sunday.

i think that's whats going on...of course dana wants his baby ronda to fight misha rather than holly.....im just hoping this could be a case where he listens to what the fans want....

if conor would have won then we would have had holly vs rousey but conor got wrecked and you cant have both stars of the ufc benched.
this gives rousey a chance to get a big needed w over tate and enough time to put together conor vs aldo and avoid frankie so you could have the story of the greatest comebacks in mma.
only to have holm crush rousey again and conor get crushed by frankie or others.

While there is a danger of the UFC getting into a scheduling cycle of Rousey/Tate/Holm/Rousey/Tate/Holm, there's also possibly a new door opened for fighters like Nunes and a few others.
