- UFC Fight Night: Manila now has a main event lined up as former champions Frankie Edgar and Urijah Faber are set to face off. The bout will be contested at featherweight, and contrary to earlier announcements the May 16 card will be shown on Fox Sports 1.
The match up was first reported by MMA-in-Asia.
Faber and Edgar were at one point considered the best fighters at 145 and 155 lbs, and have since established themselves as top contenders after dropping down a division each.
After cleaning up most of the top 15 and having his teammate as champion, looking for interesting super fights made sense at this point in Faber's career. After 5 years away, he will now return to the division as he takes on the #1 ranked featherweight in Edgar.
