Anderson Silva Believes American Fans and Media Being Biased

 This fuckin guy... he can't be serious. The reason the large majority was happy about the outcome was due to his arrogant douchebaggery.
It's just like when you're at the bar and you see that idiot in the the affliction shirt talking about how he is this and that and how he could kill everyone in here; because well... he trains UFC and now he he is gonna fuck that little dudes girl or what ever. And then the little dude walks up to jersey shore and knocks him the fuck out. Everyone in the bar is happy even jersey shores "buddies".
It's really not much different.

Plus the fact that American fans are clearly the some of the least patriotic when it comes to fighters and sticking by your country. Brazil on the other hand... chant "You're gonna die" at nearly every non Brazilian fighter and I believe "fag" was being chanted at Mendes after getting KOd by Jose Aldo...

I've never really paid much attention to it, but I bet more often than not I root against the American in fights, as they are likely the one with a strong wrestling base that learned how to punch late in their career and looks to win by decision.
On average, the foreign fighters seem to be much more exciting.
I've never rooted for any MMA athlete simply because of their ethnicity.

So Silva clowning in the cage is the same thing as an Affliction-shirt wearing, "Jersey Shore" , loudmouth, douchebag bully trying to fuck a little guy's girlfriend at the bar?

Agreed. And it also sounds to me like he was speaking in general terms, not about the Weidman fight specifically.
 
As far as the Weidman fight itself goes, there were likely a shit-ton of reasons why the crowd was cheering.
 
-It was a knockout. The crowd goes crazy every time there is a knockout, regardless of who knocked out who.
-A title changed hands. Every time a new champ is crowned, it's exciting, especially when it changes hands as the result of a finish, and especially when it's a champ that held the title for so long like Silva.
-Weidman was holding up an American flag for Christ's sake. Safe to say there's gonna be some cheering for that in an American arena.
 
And yes, a fair amount of the cheering was likely of the "that's what you get" variety, but it's not like that was the sole reason. Just like the simple fact that Weidman is American wasn't the sole reason, either.

You forgot to mention the underdog factor. Who doesn't love it when an underdog comes in and gets a big KO.

Well he said the fans were happy that the American won (in the part he seemed to be talking specifically about the Weidman fight). He's not wrong about that.
Our disagreement seems to be in the reason for them being happy.
