ugh! i dont watch the show, anymore (because like all reality tv, it is boring and scripted), but i read this thread and now i wish i hadnt. I want the time back when i wanted to bone ronda and only had hints of her toolness, which was overshadowed by her ass. now, her ass has to be JLo and KimK size, put together, on steroids. you guys ruined her for me!!!

LOL, sorry commie. Trust me, I'm not happy about it either. There was a brief time when I was actually mor attracted to Ronda than Miesha, but it didn't last long. That combo of cute smile/hard-ass asshole attitude was much less desirable than Miesha's combo of perfect ass/kind of annoying.

Really happy who won that fight. The worst fighter ever is the guy who wins his fights by "controlling" the fight. Was also a great gameplan by Rousey's fighter. He understood that if he tried to stick to his gameplan of keeping it standing, he was going to get outpointed by a guy who was just going to hold him against the cage or lay ontop of him for position. He came out in the second round and went for his own takedown. Once he was on his back, his one dimensional status came through and lost the last two rounds easily.

I will say though I was rooting for Tate's fighter when he sunk in that RnC...I gave him props for actually getting his back and going for the finish...and I have NO idea how he got out of that choke, that was tight and appeared to be perfectly placed.

Yeah I was actually impressed by Wooten. After the first round, I was sure this was going to be a boring ass fight dominated by a wrestler hell-bent on making this fight as boring as possible. You don't often see a guy manage to turn the tables like that when he's just getting blanketed like that.
Side note- my 2 year old son woke up crying , so I had to take him out into the living room with me so my wife could get some sleep. So I was watching the show, and then the part came on where Rousey was doing those scoots and body hops on the mats. My son was laughing so goddamn hard that I thought he was gonna pass out. He kept making me rewind it so he could watch it again. I thought it was kind of funny, but I swear it might have been the funniest thing he had ever seen.

Yeah that's serious core strength right there. The first one she did looked hard enough, but then the rest of them just got more and more impressive.

Well, I was really not feeling the idea of a "mid season recap" episode- it just kind of feels like a space filler to me. But I did however pick up on a few things after watching it:
-Dana is going to do everything in his power to make sure Raquel Pennington gets to the finale. He was fawning over her every time he brought her up in an interview, and since he ultimately has final say in who fights who in the semis, he's going to make sure she gets the easiest path possible. I guarantee that if a tough fighter asks for her in the semifinal fighter meetings, Dana won't make that fight happen, and if a weaker fighter asks to fight her, it's a done deal, and if nobody asks to fight her, he will pick the fighter that he feels is the weakest left in the tournament.
-Dana said Racquel is "the first openly gay fighter to compete on TUF". Isn't Shayna Bazsler gay? She fought in the first fight of the season, so she would actually be the first (if she is gay, which I'm pretty sure she said she was).
-on that same note, is it wierd to anyone else that we already have seen 3 relatively high profile female MMA fighters (Shayna, Racquel, and Liz Carmouche) be openly gay in the short time that WMMA has become more high profile? I'm not saying the stereotype about female athletes being predominantly lesbians is true, but I'm just saying its kind of odd.
-And finally, I had to laugh when Ronda stated that Miesha is like the teacher's (Dana) pet, and Ronda herself is the kid that gets picked on by the pet (Miesha) when the teacher turns his back to them, and that Teacher Dana just loves pet Miesha because she is nice and sweet to his face. OK, we all remember that kid, and we all hated him. But the problem in Rouseys equation is that Miesha is not the teachers pet, Rousey is. When the teacher (AKA president of the company) admittedly brings in WMMA strictly because of you, then you are unequivocally the teachers pet, without a doubt.

Yeah I agree I think Dana has a crush on Raquel. I don't know why they made such a big deal about her being gay, who cares. I know that's what Dana said, but if you really felt like "who cares" then you wouldn't have made it a point to say "who cares"...you'd have left it alone. It's kind of like saying "I'm not racist but...."....if you have to preview your comment with that then chances are you're probably racist.
Ronda is stupid. I don't have alot more to say about her other than Ronda is stupid. Whether it's suggestive editing, or whatever, I've lost gobs of respect for her, she's immature, a sore loser and a poor role model. Great fighter? Yes. But it ends there with me.

Looking forward to the next couple fights. In regards to the womens' fight...I didn't realize that sarah Moras has already fought Pena and Pennington in the past...Pena she beat TKO via doctor stoppage and Pennington is her only loss, it was via decision. I just found that interesting.

Yeah, FUCK A MIDSEASON RECAP! We just watched this shit! I think they are planning on doing another recap during Thanksgiving as well. At least Dana said something along those lines at an interview.

I guess lady drama requires several recaps, you know, just to make sure we got all the details like "First of all, I was already upset because I couldn't find the shoes I wanted to wear today. Then, just when I think things can't possibly get any worse, I looked in the mirror and thought that I looked bloated, so I was like OMG, this is the worst day ever! So then I had to......."
followed by a 45 minute explaination of feelings, 3 minutes talking about a fight that occurred that week, and 20 more minutes talking about feelings.

Ahhhh...I couldn't have been more disappointed in Cody quitting. Wow...I was really pulling for him to beat Anthony, I know he's a wrestler, but I was impressed by his hands in his fight to get into the house. I haven't cut weight for over 20 years, but I do remember it being BRUTAL. I wasn't as far over as Cody, but I remember having to cut 3 lbs in an hour and that sucks. Full gear on, sweating it out in a smelly wrestling room, running laps, rolling on the mat, riding the stationary bike, then riding to the meet in your coach's car with the heat on full blast...then running more sprints before the weigh ins...blah. In other words, I'm not about to call the guy a wuss for quitting...just sucks to see him do so.
Ronda proved herself an idiot once again talking shit about how Tate was dissing Cody. She wasn't dissing Cody in the least, she was telling the truth. Neither coach was at the house all the time to monitor what these guys and girls eat...at some point it's out of their hands and these fighters have to man/woman up and take responsibility...it wasn't at all Meisha's fault that Cody quit. Not in the least.
As far as the Sarah/Peggy fight, it went down how I expected, although I did expect Sarah to look a little better on her feet. She was very flat footed and somewhat cumbersome, then she got the takedown and I got bored for a minute, and just then she got her head up and WOW...just like Dana said she's a finisher, and a brutal one at that...awesome gnp by Sarah..nice win.

I actually thought Ronda kind of won this episode over Miesha in the annoying bitch portion of the scorecard. Bringing cheeseburgers to the two guys who just fought looked kind of bush league by Miesha when compared to Ronda's Fathers Day gift gesture, and I sort of agreed with Ronda about the whole Cody weight cut thing. I'm not saying Ronda is right about it being Miesha's fault, because as Sam said, at some point the responsibility falls on the fighter, but Ronda was right about the way Miesha talked about it. Dana gave her one little window by saying "Hey, it's not your fault" and Miesha ran with it and totally threw Cody to the wolves without taking so much as an iota of blame fir herself. I still think Ronda is a tool, but Miesha didn't do herself any favors, either.
I actually felt bad for Cody. I know it's his own fault, but when he was crying, worrying about having to go back to his wife and kid empty handed, I couldn't help but feel for him. And I agreed with Anthony's decision to take the forfeit. He's right; it would've been a big time man move to take a fight right away, but it's smart to just move on. After watching him not even be able to walk correctly when going in to talk to Dana, I think he's earned the right to lay off the weight cutting for a bit.
Final thought; I couldn't help staring at Sara's ass. I don't really find her attractive at all, but her ass and legs just have that thickness to em. I was just mesmerized by the bounciness. I'm not proud of it, I'm just saying....

Yeah I'm not attracted to her creepy bug eyes or weird, twitchy way of talking, but when I saw her in the tight short-shorts I was locked in. That build isn't usually my thing, but I couldn't help it. Maybe it was the slo-mo shots.
One more thing I forgot to mention. I said last week that Dana loves Raquel and will make sure she has the easiest path possible, and he proved me right. If you listen at the beginning of the meeting, Dana says that he thinks "Juliana is a beast" and could be one of the best girls there. Then all of the fighters come in and every single girl says they want to fight Jessica (probably because they all feel she's the easiest fight). Then, Rousey and Miesha actually agree that they want Jessica/Sara and Juliana/Raquel. And what does Dana do, even though the coaches agreed on the matchups? He flips it and makes it Raquel/Jessica and Juliana/Sara, so Raquel gets out of fighting Juliana (the toughest in Dana's opinion) and now fights Jessica (the easiest in everybody's opinion. Can't say I didn't see it coming....
