| hey guys, did anybody watch the event? im hoping we discuss events more often. we rarely do lately. i just watched it, and it was incredible, i thought. all main fights were very good. it was great seeing big nog come back like that and actually submit his opponent, although i still think he has lost two steps. even on the ground he is kinda slow. phil davis did a good job, and that was the most uninteresting fight of them all. fitch's fight- what a fucking war. great fight. that second round was amazing, escapes from rear naked choke (he seems to have displaced his bllod vessels in his neck), and a pretty good armbar escape for erick silva. that guy needs to start paying more attention to fighting strategy than his looks, i saw him fixing his locks after a round. lol maia is a master on the ground, the best, but this was the fisrt time i was actually afraid for fighters life. i thought rick story's neck is going to snap. when the blood started pouring from hin nose i was sure something serious happened. that guy glover teixeira was fighting is simply ridiculous. i couldnt believe my eyes. i could hear almost every elbow and punch that landed on his face and there were a hundred of them in just the first round. i dont remember another fight where anybody took so much punishment. he probably lost half his brain cells in the fight. ok, now about anderson. i still have a problem with him not pushing himself and fight big names in light-heavy weight just because he cares about the record too much. Stephan is just a good gatekeepr. but holly fucking damn, silva is god, not human. its like watching a movie. the way he predicts every movement and even rolls with the punches so they lose most of their power. he sees every little thing. he is better every time.

| I saw almost all the fights except for the Fitch-Silva one and I agree great night of fights.
Bonnar brought it and while you can say he never actually put silva in danger, he seized his chance and was constantly on the attack. Good for Bonnar and Silva is impressive as usual.
Phil Davis looked great he was a takedown machine and those two slams were awesome. He was nonstop attacking, either going for a submission, striking, or GnPing. That finish was greath he weakened him with that arm triangle and then finished beautifull with the anaconda. He had some great kness on the ground too from the side.
The Herman-Nogueira fight was awesome. Herman was pretty impressive with his kicks and his awesome throws and I liked the way he kept putting his foot in Nog's face on the ground. Big Nog kept attacking with punches and went for the armbar, but I don't think he's got much left anymore, if Herman wouldn't have moved onto his stomach he'd probably of won. What an awesome fight.
Teixeira looked incredible. His GnP was so fucking brutal and impressive. Those elbows were ungodly as were most of his punches. It looked like a fucking murder was taking place lol and Maldonado too his credit just took it like nothing and still managed to hit Teixeria with some good shots.
Demian Maia's striking continues to get better and I've noticed he's been adding more takedowns to his arsenal. That slam was awesome as was that RNC neck crank. I knew Story was fucked once I saw the way Maia had his head against Story's.
Tibau looked good and is a takedown machine. Trinaldo still almost took it in the second. I liked how both realized they needed to win the third round and both came out swinging like bats out of hell.
The other fights were pretty awesome as well.
I enjoyed this card thoroughly and I love the Rio Crowd.
Who do you think should be next for Teixeria?

| Glover needs to fight a top 10 guy, no questions asked... aside from who? Rampage would have been a good test for him... I like the idea of Taxeria fighting Machida... I think that would be a war and a great match up stylistically. | |

| I agree great fights!!!
The Maia submission was crazy. I didnt know wtf happened there either when the blood started pouring. Im surprised they never even mentioned it. I lost $50 on Story in that fight. I thought he would be able to keep the fight standing, but Maia impressed the hell out of me with his Tds.
The Fitch fight was beyond awesome. Great war. I won $100 on that one haha. Fitch as an undersog makes no sense to me against anyone but GSP.
ZGlover looked BEASTLY! Loved his fight. Wondering a little about his chin though. We will see.
Silva what dee fuck. Its like he is being controlled by some 18yr old video game nerd or something. How he reacts so quickly is beyond me.

| Yeah I missed the card too...but I did catch the main event. Yeah, Bonnar pressed forward and gave it his all, but it was childs play for Silva. There was never a second of him being in trouble. I'm just amazed at how calm he is when pressed against the cage, no rush, no heavy breathing, just calm and waiting for the exact moment to make his move.
Having said all that I think he needs to retire. Go out on a high note, be the first fighter to take a full career in the UFC completely undefeated...don't be a Chuck that looks unbeatable then starts slipping.

| what?! retire? that would be a crime. why would you want to rob fans of the pleasure of watching him. he is faster than anybody he faces; why would he retire. its funny though, anderson is a year older than big nog. looking at them you would think andrson is 25 and nog is like 62. also, nobody ever remembers the time at the end of great athletes career when they lose. what is remembered is how long and how great they were. let him extend the greatness for as long as possible. | |

| I dunno man...maybe it's my OCD and wanting to see a fighter finish un-defeated. If he continues there WILL be a time when he loses. There will be that time when we're thinking the unstoppable robo-cop of MMA cannot be beaten, and then he gets laid out...followed by another time when he gets laid out again. I just don't want to see it, I want to see the era of the that one fighter that is absolutely unstoppable and doesn't fall prey to age and slowing down. But if he sticks around, it's gonna happen sooner than later. | |

| Am i the only one that was shocked that Fitch won FotN? It was a great fight and deserved it, I'm just saying he was a lot more active and pushed the pace more. If he fights like that going forward, it wouldn't ne crazy to see him in another title fight next year.
Texiera is an absolute monster. Rampage called him out on Twitter the other day and Dana responded positively so I could see that fight happening. If it were r years ago i would have bet every dollar i had on him, but now I'm pretty sure he'll get retired...or retarded...or both...
I was actually happier to see Nog win than any fight on this card. Guys underestimate him because he's list a step but his boxing wad still on point and he submitted the"bjj didn't work on me" Herman
And finally, what can you say about another Andy Silver dominaging performance? That knee looked like it put a hole in Bonnar's chest.
That was a great event, especially for one that lost 2 main events. And next month we get the return of GSP! Life is good my friends.

| Rampage calling anyone out except for Bob Sapp makes me laugh. His time is LOOOOOOOONG passed...he needs to stick to making b level movies. | |
