I wasn't a fan of Mighty Mouse at first, I didn't dislike him or anything ,but just didn't see anything special in him. I thought he lost his fight with Torres, Cruz dominated him, and wasn't particularly impressed when he first won the title against Benavidez. I became a fan in the Dodson fight who I thought took the first three round, but MM didn't give up and demolished him in that front headlock against the cage alternating between knee to the head when they were legal, and then sending them to the body or thigh when they weren't. He did what a champion should and kept fighting, doing him enough to get the decision. Then he dominated Moraga and kept going for the finish getting the submission late in the fight. This fight I thought Benavidez was doing good ,but then MM countered him and knocked him out clean, and followed up with four solid punches on the ground. Mighty Mouse has become a favorite of mine.
Chad Mendes vs. Nick Lentz- I'd never seen Lentz before ,but had heard he was boring. He impressed in this fight and landed some good strikes standing. But even on the bottom he was landing good strikes and twice (quite impressively I might add) literally flung Mendes into the air and cage with his sweeps. Mendes dominated the wrestling and was landing good punches standing, but just sort of LnP'd on the ground. I think an argument can be made similarly to the Rutten-Randleman fight that Lentz won the fight on activity. To answer your question (you might know by now) apparently Mendes got a sinus infection a few days before the fight.
Urijah Faber vs. Michael McDonald- Faber looked good on the feet and kept landing a good overhand right. He smartly went to his powerful guillotine after rocking him and got the tap. I agree Faber has looked fucking impressive his last run or two. He's been able to beat everybody ,but the champions and dominantly at that.
Joe Lauzon vs. Mac Danzig- I thought Danzig was getting the better of the standup striking and was also getting the better of the dirty boxing. But Lauzon was able to take him down multiple times and was either going for submissions or roughing him up with elbows on the ground (especially the second round).
Also may I say that I'm doing quite well for myself in the Standard Cash department.
