| im watching fight night 49. these two dudes, lazaro and nick, and all i am thinking all the fight through is "this is literally a bar fight". i can see them two getting into a fight at a bar, boasting things like- "bro, i took boxing for a year and a half when i was in middle school", "fuck you bro, kickboxing is better, i was in one tournament". seriously, they were throwing punches like they were baseball pitches. and thats when they were fresh. when they got tired, it was windmills all around. how watered down do these card have to get before we lose all interest? | |

| there are also three other thoughts in my head while watching this. first. maybe i missed it, but i didnt see any grappling strategies in the fights i watched. ..and Mein just said that he wants a knockout so he can stay in the main event. second. what the fuck is matt serra doing there? he is a douchebag and looks like that constipation is giving him serious problems. and thirdly. i just looked at the next event. how can it be so fucking bad? thats the worst pay-per-view line up ever. | |

| OK, OK..... In all fairness, I think I remember that fight you mentioned, and I was thinking the same thing about how ugly and sloppy it was. You won't get an arguement out of me on that one. But honestly, I don't see the sense in letting it bother you. So it was a shitty fight, who cares? There's shitty fights on every card. If you watched two blatantly and unapologetically weak fight cards in one day, what would cause you to expect anything different? | |

| it was kind of an accumulated frustration effect for me. This fight just hit it right on the nose and made the frustrations seem more than they are. There is definite lowering of quality of fight, I mean, if there is such a thing as a median for fighting. All these cards that go on every week with fighters that i have never hear of and probably will never remember, because they dont stand out. And, added to my well known problem with not utilizing the whole arsenal of martial arts, for the sake of perceived value in entertainment (it suppose to be martial arts show and if you remove martial arts we will be left with only show), made me write that angry post. I am not a snobby, elitist fan, i am just concerned that it will die as martial arts because it will get watere down and focus on only a part of the arts. I hope im wrong | |

| I never really understood complaining about free fights.
I love the fact that we have all of this free MMA to choose from now. If some of the fights are stinkers and some of the cards a bit watered down so be it. There is enough now that I can pick and choose what I want to watch. I like it. | |

| Yeah if I watched every single fight on every single MMA card from every promotion, I'd probably be a little annoyed and burned out. | |

| yeah that's probably more on the point, as a big fan i tend to watch all events that i can and after a while there is not enough of me to care for all the nobody's. especially if they are not up to the skill level of the previous standards. maybe it's like, if any of you loved football so much that you wanted to watch all of it. and the league obliged, showing games all throughout the week, and then expanding the number of teams to fifty, then a hundred. Actually, sounds like a possibility lol So, in that scenario, its not about whether it's free or not, it is about oversaturation and dilution. But even then , you might still enjoy watching football, because it is a game. MMA is not. The difference is that mma is a sport based on improvement in its premise. Football, soccer, baseball, tennis, and other sports are more about friendly competition than necessity of seeing improvement and seeking perfection. We can all go outside and play sports and not care how well we played or if we lost, and we did so as kids for sure. Remember all the pick up games? But nobody goes to a dojo just for the fun of it. Perfection and improvement is always the goal. It is the point of martial arts. So, when i see a brawl on a card, i might enjoy it, because i respect it and maybe i can relate in that i am also probably a shitty fighter, but if it continues, i will be disappointed, because just like when i go to dojo, i want improvement and perfection. | |

| I don't know man I hear where you are coming from I guess, but having so much mma that I can pick and choose what I want and don't want to watch is not high on my list of complaints lol | |
