| Thoughts on last nights episode? I was thoroughly disappointed with the showing by both fighters. Both were extremely emotionally charged, both promised to destroy the other, neither delivered. The closest either of them came was when Akira dropped what's his face and then pounced. But if you're gonna get all heated and start throwing at the face off, then CERTAINLY throw bombs and try your hardest to end the fight in the first round. Neace (I think that's his name) deserved to lose that fight IMO. All the smack he talked about how he's sick of Akira and how he's gonna pummel him and this and that and he plays it safe and loses a decision. Boo | |

| What about the tap? Akira tapped... The ref didn't catch it.
And as Miller said at the end of the show, Neace was too distracted by that fact for the second round, and lost it for that reason, couldn't stop thinking about it.
I think I would have been more pissed, and started swinging for all its worth.
Alot of imaturity in the show this time round. Although, I do enjoy Millers facial exprecions... cracks me up.

| Wasnt happy with the show. The fighters should be docked some cash if they are smack talking and DONT back it up. Or maybe they should be required to remove one of their tatoos if they cant back up their pre-fight smack talking.
I'm hating the "feeling out stages" of the fight more and more. These two guys spent so much time circling and "testing" each other I actually dozed off... (It was the 11 to 12 show).
As for the tap.... like Dana said "sure it was a tap ... but if the ref didnt call it... its not a tap." Besides that heel hook was so weak Akira got out easily the second time and if you really have a guy good in any sort of leg lock he's gonna tap like Brock did with Mir.
The tap was more a "owie owie owie" hand wiggle of discomfort.
I liked the Mayhem Count back and forth...
Mayhem: "I see you in the ring again I'll knock you out! Count: "Who have you EVER knocked out!" Mayhem: " Well... uh ... YOULL be a good start then."
Mayhem parking in the handicapped zone.... heh.

| Yeah...it was a weak hold. I still don't give Neace credit for it. Don't talk like you're gonna knock your opponent into the next century and then feel him out and go for a toe hold. He couldn't even finish that. So my level of respect for Neace and for Akira dropped significantly. | |

| That was BULLShiT! Dude tapped... Neace doesn't deserve a win?... HE MADE THE DUDE TAP! If tapping is nothing then Sonnen is an unstoppable fuckin JUGGERNAUT who should be Champ! This is why we need instant replay, especially in a show like this, where its not a "real" fight. They have the ability to do it, DO IT! HORSE SHIT JOB BY MY FAVORITE REF!
But I do agree that they could have looked better out there, with their performances.

| I'm just bitter because both guys talked mad shit and neither delivered. I do agree he made Akira tap, you're right...so true, he deserved the win. But like I said, don't go all balls out at the staredown, but then when it comes time to fighting in the cage do the waltz and end up in a decision. | |

| All of these guys have watched season after season of this show...they'd have to be brain dead to not know that Dana doesn't always care if you win or lose...he just wants you to leave it all in the cage. He WILL put you on an event if you show him you're a true fighter...whether you win the show or not...or heck, you may not even win your first fight, but if you show talent and show you're the kind of fighter to give it everything you have, he'll put you on a card. | |

| Very true, they had way more aggression in the wrestle off at the stare downs than in the actual fight. Which was pretty slow going. | |

| I like how Akira was threatened of being kicked off the show because of his post fight antics. Such immaturity. | |

| And I fear for Mayhem's guy next week. I'm afraid Bispings guy is gonna make a mess of him. | |

Tito does this shit all the time though and is never in trouble for it. I thought it was pretty funny. Akira is the funniest dude on the show in awhile. "If youre a man fight me in the garden bare fists"

| I am probably learning disabled, but I really didn't see a tap. I certainly would not have let go of a hold for that pitter-pater questionable tap.
Especially...... when he was saying before the fight that he plans on holding a submission longer than he should in order to send a message. That may have been the quickest release of a sub I have ever seen.

this is what I thought as well, maybe he felt the tap and released slightly. Although that does go against all the pre-fight talk how they both wanted to kill each other.... alright fight, but like everyone else I was expecting more. on a side note, Miller totally makes this show better.

| Samger your bringing up some great points on how "Jacked" both fighters were and how disppointing they were in the performances.
Berserk, your totally right in the fact that Miller makes this show way more appealing to the viewer entertainment wise; I love the misdirection on the fight selection Idea; ingenious.
Akira tapped foresure imo, but I completely agree with Dana's comment on it; and there is nothing that discredits the quality of your officials more than turning a judgement around based on a second of video. Its not like its a different sport with multiple refs who still miss calls and need cameras to assist, Herb was standing right there.
I totally think it was possible that Neace eased up on the sub when he felt Akira tap, which proved to be a fatal error for him; but shows his inexperience as a fighter.
Looking forward to Brandao and the tall white kid.

| I think that the fight itself is not worthy of the time we are all giving it. These two guys did not bring it AT ALL. For guys that are trying to get a contract they both failed.... When the "entertainment" value of the coaches is better than the real story of the the fight then something is wrong with the show. | |

| Something is wrong with the episode,
not the Show;
I've been entertained by every episode up until this one.
Completely agree, epic fail on both fighters part;
Akira should not have been celebrating anything after that embarrassment, he'll lose in his next fighting unless he get a lucky KO.

| I agree ... that type of celebration for that type of win was waaaay out of line....
I'm not a fan of that crap anyways.... well I do have to admit the Abbott celebration over Matua was pretty cool..... but that's the last one I enjoyed.... well up to Tito and the grave digging (the first one) ok ok I'm a hypocrite

| In general I'm not a fan of Miller, but I agree, he brings alot to the show this season, both in his coaching style and general team building skills and in his humor and antics. | |
