Ortiz injured, out of Bellator pay-per-view fight against 'Rampage'

Tito Ortiz suffered a neck injury in training which will keep him out of next weekend's fight against Quinton Jackson, according to sources with knowledge of the situation.

Bellator is currently seeking a replacement for Ortiz, and it is unclear at this time whether Jackson will remain on the Nov. 2 card. There is a chance next weekend's pay-per-view card turns into a free Spike TV card with Jackson being moved to another event.

MMAFighting.com reached out to both Jackson and Ortiz and their respective camps, but they could not be reached for a comment. Ortiz did send out an ominous tweet Friday morning.

The PPV was never going to happen! Tito, Rampage and Bellator/Viacom agreed to do the promoting, but knew the PPV wasn't ever going to happen.
Why on earth would they do that Chrom? You maybe asking....

Simple, if they didn't produce a PPV soon, they would be in violation of the recently resigned Eddie Alvarez. Who has been signed on with PPV sales in his contract. We all know there was a long and tiresome trial over this, Viacom/Bellator had rights to match, which we all know UFC offered Alvarez PPV sales. Bellator/Viacom said well we have matched that, we are going to have PPV cards soon and Eddie will get his cut.

So they carried on with this charade in order to keep, arguably one of their best fighters in the Bellator stable, under contract.

Tito is an absolute joke. This whole Bellator thing was probably nothing more than a way for Tito to get into pro wrestling.
Viacom- So Tito, what we'd like to do is have you do both MMA and pro wrestling.
Tito- Really? OK, sounds cool! But ahhhh, we're doing the pro wrestling thing first, right?
Viacom- Yeah, and then you'll compete in an MMA match near the end of the year.
Tito- Yeah yeah, sure. So I'll be getting paid up front for the wrestling, right?

Looks more and more like boxing everyday.

On a boxing card you'd get to the arena and see a printed out flyer at the front door that said those bouts were all dropped. Hey, you were forewarned, quit bitching. Then if you were lucky enough to get a refund on your tickets (lol) you'd be subject to a 60% "administrative" fee. Or you'd be informed that your tickets would be honored at the next event which would never happen. The stories about why all of the fights got dropped would come out 2wks later. Non-UFC MMA isn't there yet but just give it time. Go ahead and trash Dana White all you want, though.

It looks to me like they're just trying to stockpile for when/if they eventually do put on a PPV event. They have shit for depth on their roster, so they probably want to save as many big fights from this card as possible so they can once again try to load up for the PPV. Doesn't realy matter though, at least if they attempt to headline it with Tito again. That's one basket I would steer very, very clear of when looking for somewhere to put all of my eggs.

When old folks fight this is what happens! Good thing he didn't break a hip.
