UFC 162 Discussion *SPOILERS*

I agree that silva gave that fight away....if he is interested in getting the belt back, I suspect he can.....I give wiedman all the credit in the world for doing what no one else has in the ufc but I think that all the "clowning" aside silva can win.......I also think if a shot would have hit silva that hurt him rather than ko him he would have stopped acting like that and made it a fight..

Well it doesn't piss me off, but I could not disagree more.

The fact of the matter is that Weidman was winning the fight when Silva was taking it "seriously" as well as when he was not.

When Silva was taking the fight "seriously" Weidman took him down and was winning the fight. There is nothing to say based on Anderson's previous fights with Chael or the first round with Weidman that that would not have continued if Silva had continued fighting "seriously"

When Silva started clowning, because he was losing while taking it "seriously" Weidman dropped him.

That is where I have a problem. People saying Anderson handed Chris the fight, because he started fooling around. No. When he was not fooling around Chris was winning, so Anderson resorted to fooling around.

People act as though Anderson was kicking Weidman's ass and then started getting cocky and got caught. When he wasn't clowning or "giving Weidman the fight on a silver platter" he was getting his ass kicked too.

Weidman was winning before he started fucking around and he won after he started fucking around. It was his night.

Well, I can speak for myself and say that I never said that Silva was winning the fight or anything like that.
Weidman caught Silva while he was clowning around, and that's what ended the fight. If Silva wans't so blatantly clowning, things would have gone differently. Exactly how much differently I can't say, but if he wasn't doing the fake-rocked, shoulder-shimmy right when Weidman threw the punch, that fight doesn't end like that at that time.

that's definitely a fair enough assessment.

i just think it's bunk when some have said silva only lost because of his clowning. weidman was winning up until the clowning as well.

I guess it's kind of how you want to word it.
IMO did Silva technically lose because he was clowning? Yes.
Would he have won if he wasn't? Nothing happened in that fight to support that idea.

I need to see another, more "normal" fight to get a better idea.
