War Machine vs Blas Avena- Started out pretty even with War Machine doing better in the striking, but then he kept getting good trip takedowns and eventually got the mounted crucifix and finished it with punches from there.
Ron Sparks vs Vitaly Minakov- Both came out trading early, but then Minakov rocked him with a right hand and finished him up with GnP.
Ryan Martinez vs Rich Hale- Started out with even striking and then Martinez forced Hale into the cage and took him down with a powerful bodylock takedown ate two good heel upkicks from Hale on his back and then rocked him with a powerful punch and finished him with really powerful hammerfist GnP.
Renato Sobral vs Jacob Noe- I thought Sobral took the first round slightly ,but I could see it going to Noe who was getting the better of the punches and landing good counter ones almost every time there was a striking exchange. Sobral did better in the second picking Noe apart with straight punches and good leg kicks, although Noe was still landing good counter punches. Noe rocked and cut open Sobral in the third who seemed so rocked that he turned his back to Noe which caused the ref to stop the fight.
Seth Pethruzelli vs Muhammad Lawal- Pethruzelli was doing a good job with the striking, mixing in punches and kicks, but Lawal smartly took him down and as soon as Seth let down his guard King Mo knocked him out clean with one good powerful leaping overhand GnP punch.
Justin McNally vs Steven Artoff- Artoff took McNally down early ,but McNally got him in rubber guard and was out striking him from the bottom with elbows and good hammerfists before setting up and inverted triangle choke which he managed to lock in hard along with an armbar to get the submission.
On a few sidenotes: Martinez is one of those guys that is able to generate a lot of power in his fists from short shots.
I like Sobral and Noe ,but it was kind of sad to watch Sobral not be able to take a punch while Frank Shamrock was commentating about how you get older your body just can't do what you're mind's thinking anymore, would've liked to see him end on a win.
I like how Bellator hypes up a fight, by going a little into their history and using music that fits the fighters. Gives you a little information about their fighting and personal lives so you can kind of decide who to root for.
I'm sort of indifferent towards King Mo, but I thought his getting knocked out by a spinning backfist comments were really dumb.
What the hell did you guys think?
