- Dream has added two new fights to the upcoming Dream 17 card in
September including lightweight champion Shinya Aoki taking on former
WEC champion ‘Razor’ Rob McCullough.
Since losing to current Strikeforce champion Gilbert Melendez in
April 2010, Shinya Aoki has gotten his mojo back, winning his last five
fights in a row.
Aoki last fought in late may where he defeated former UFC lightweight Rich Clementi in the 2nd round.
Now Aoki will take on another American when former WEC lightweight champion ‘Razor’ Rob McCullough takes the trip to Dream 17.
After exiting the WEC in 2009, McCullough picked up two wins before
entering the Bellator lightweight tournament earlier this year where he
was promptly eliminated by Patricky ‘Pitbull’ Freire by TKO.
He’ll try to reverse his fortunes against a very tough opponent in Shinya Aoki.
