- After coming up short in his attempts to capture Dream and
Strikeforce lightweight titles, Tatsuya Kawajiri has decided to drop to the featherweight division and face Joachim Hansen at “Dream.17.”
Kawajiri owns a 28-7-2 professional record and was seen last month posting a TKO victory over Drew Fickett at “Dream: Japan Grand Prix Final.” The veteran has alternated between wins and losses over his last five contests.
Hansen holds a 22-10-1 resume and is perfect through his last three scraps. He took a controversial split decision victory over Mitsuhiro Ishida in May.
“Dream.17″ will take place September 24th inside the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan. The card will feature the opening round of the organization’s eight-man Bantamweight Grand Prix.
Submission specialist Shinya Aoki will also meet Rob McCullough in the event, however Aoki’s Dream lightweight title will not be up for grabs.
No word if HDNet will make the card available for North Americans.
5th Round I sure as hell hope that HDNet picks it up, Its a good card... other wise Im gonna have to deal with shitty low quality youtube videos | |
