DREAM is DEAD

This will leave a plethora of Japanese fighters without a job and give OneFC the ability to scoop up a roster's worth of very talented fighters. Others may descend upon the USA to try out their ranks with Bellator and on the regional circuit.
Tis' a sad day in Japan.

SUPER FIGHT LEAGUE!!! Lol ya rite.

Ok I've said it before and have gotten stomped a little but I'll say it again. "Really? How well have Japanese fighters really done in MMA outside of Japan? Sure there are exceptions but overall they don't do well. Unless you can make it in the 'Big Pond' where all the Big Fish fight you can't grow a sport.... Its a lot like Strikeforce.... "I'm the BEST of the guys who can't cut it in the UFC."

I knew Krieger would be devastated by this news lol...

krieger, its not about them not being as good of fighters as ufc fighters. most of them are not. the points are that other leagues should exist because we, the fans and the fighters need options. ufc cannot hold all the fighters in and it also cant satisfy everybodies taste.
now, all the middle of the echelon fighters that wont make it to the ufc will be pretty much out of options. although they might not be the best in the world, different rules and atmosphere allow them to put on some exciting fights that all could enjoy. in every other sport, if they dont make it to the big leagues, athletes have places to go and earn a living and put on some great performances.

Sure I understand all of that BUT if you don't make money you don't have a business.

If people don't want to pay to see your inferior product your business dies.

Why did DREAM die?.... Cause nobody wanted to pay to keep the business going.

Of course there are smaller leagues around that don't pay as well and its sure hard to make a living out of the Bigs but thats the nature of the business.

And honestly more fighters being supported does not make for better fights or organizations. In my view the more fighters you have the more watered down the talent pool becomes and the more mediocre fights you have. When I watch the UFC I am very rarely truly disappointed with the majority of the fights.

Watching other leagues.... usually results in boredom, many trips to the cooler and channel surfing.

Watching DREAM.... usually resulted in ,,, me dreaming.
