2 things I want to happen:

1)Herschel to die
2)Daryl to either get a haircut or just a good shampoo

In that order

2 things I would like to happen;

1) Stop dragging the episodes on and on, seriously it's like Dragon Ball Z
2) Being more gritty and dark like the comic.

The thing about the comic that I loved and hated at the same time was that you couldn't get attached to any character because they could die at any moment. When they did die, it was shocking and you feel bad. Not so much with the show, shit they just throw nameless people into the death pile and saying "See! People die all the time, you just don't need to know them is all". I don't mind it straying from the comic storyline, but they are getting away from the main ideas of it and not pushing too hard for fear of hurting the viewers.

I still love the show, but it's getting boring. I just get the feeling that they want to drag this on as long as possible so Kirkman can write more comics and it will take longer to catch up.

Yeah I gotta agree with you there. I don't want to see any of the main characters die, but I think it's necessary to a certain extent to keep things interesting. To just keep killing off borderline nameless characters is pointless and kind of insulting to the viewers. I mean whose the most recognizable character that has died so far this season? That doctor guy who has only been on the show for this season? Karen, who has only been on the show since the very end of last season? If all you're going to do is kill off useless characters, don't even bother doing it at all. 
On top of that, pretty much all of the new characters who are still alive really annoy me. Tyrese is a whine ass, Sasha is that annoying type of woman who likes to walk around thinking she's this brutal hard ass, and the alcoholic guy really just seems like an overall useless character whose probably going to be nothing more than the next "big" death on the show.

But enough bitching out of me. Moving on.
I knew The Governor was gonna be back, and I gotta say I'm actually happy about it. It's just so much more fun with him around. You know he's just been out there lurking around the prison this entire time, so he's for sure got something nasty planned. But where the hell are Martinez and the other guy that left with The Governor at the end of last season? Dead? Walker comouflage like Michonne used to have? Are they seprated from The Governor and are maybe going to try to be welcomed into the prison?
Also, I'm surprised we didn't see what Carol is up to in this episode. You'd think the writers would want to take advantage of the extra storyline.

I don't think we're going to see anything from Carol for a while. I think they're going to try to make some people forget about her or at least think she's gone for good, then when we "least expect it" she'll save Rick's life and be re-introduced back into the group. I'm also a bit surprised they didn't show the interaction between Rick and Daryl when he has to tell Daryl he sent her away...maybe it's much deeper than a few minutes can show...they may spend the better part of an episode on that.

I thought tonight's episode was awesome, The Governor was a fucking hero, that scene at the end man just fucking awesome.

Also I figured they'd drag out the Rick-Deryl interaction.

I take the opposing stance on the episode. I was bored to tears. So much emotional drama and talk talk talk talk talk to these women holed up inside an apartment. My wife and I both agreed it was a very boring episode.

I don't know...debbie downer here...I also felt the acting was pretty horrible this episode too. And this whole "twist of fate" thing where the governor was killing people and ruining lives for years in the compound but now he kills off a group of his men and now all of a sudden goes on a run and turns all "castaway"?? Doesn't talk...doesn't shave...and all of a sudden becomes a family man?

Blah. Too much drama. More zombies please.

He went fucking crazy in that pit man.  

I' just don't understand what is supposed to be going on in this episode. Are they trying to rebirth The Governor as a good guy or something? I don't want The Governor to be a good guy. He's possibly the greatest bad guy on TV right now, so why fuck with it and try to 180 his character into the hero role? I hope this is just misdirection, and he goes mega-evil at the end of the season and just straight up slaughters like 4 people. That's The Governor I want to see.

snake - yes...he went crazy in that pit...but it took a whole episode of booooooring drama and the last 30 seconds of the episode we saw some action.

I just have a bad feeling that this is going to be a really, really bad decision by the producers to try and have The Governor redeem himself or some shit like that. David Morrissey (The Governor) was on the after show and he was pretty much saying exactly what I was afraid of; that the character snapped, was a broken man after all the bad shit he did, and is now having a moral rejuvenation where he's reverting back to the good man he was before any of this started.
Translation: They're trying to convert him from evil villain to likeable hero-type character. I just think that's a terrible idea, and if they keep pushing it, it's going to hurt the show. I actually kind of love to hate The Governor, and enjoyed his character last season, but if they're going to try to do this, I'm hoping it's quick and he gets killed soon, because I don't like "good" Governor as a character.

I actually like this season a lot so far.

I think they have gone back to an old school horror movie type of atmosphere. The first few episodes when the kid in the prison turned and they were looking for him in the showers was tense as hell. I love that.

I really like what they are doing with the zombies this season too. Making them more of a threat and scary again. Towards the end of last season it was getting to be way to much like "Ok there is 50 zombies over there, deryl you take them out. ill go take out these 50 and we meet back here in five minutes" They were almost becoming an after thought. Now they seem more of a threat again.

I was shocked to see Rick send Carol away too. The funny thing was when he first did it I was like wtf im on carols side. Then I saw an interview on talking dead with the guy who plays rick and he broke it down really good. Pretty much said that carol was almost becoming the governor. Taking lives on her own without asking, etc. She also was trying to get his own son to lie to etc. I kind of saw his point afterwards.

I'm not sure how I feel about the governor becoming a good guy either. Will be weird. The only thing I can say is in the book (if they even care about the book anymore lol) a MUCH more evil villain comes after the governor so maybe there is hope haha.

I love how the writers are saying they are making a spinoff series from walking dead that will follow another group "because they love the idea of no being handcuffed by the book" There is no longer a glimpse of the book storyline in the show lol. In the book bob the doctor was an old white guy not a young drunken black alcoholic. <---And that's the closest similarity lol

Maybe the spinoff will be about The Governor, and they're just taking a few episodes in this season to warm it up a little? Honestly I think that's really the only way to keep The Governor in this story in any kind of way. I mean, how far can Good Governor really progress in this series at this point? There's no way he can reconcile with the Prison group, and Woodbury no longer exists, so how long can he possibly continue to be integrated effectively into this show's plot, other than the writers making him a completely different storyline that doesn't overlap with the Prison at all (which would effectively be a spin-off anyway, so why not just make the spin-off, instead?).

Pretty cool thought, but the spinoff is going to be set outside of atlanta and have nothing to do with this group. It sounds like it might be a prequel and will show the humans failing battle with trying to stop the outbreak...

Now that you mention it, I think I did hear about that. Is that the "webisodes" they keep giving sneak-peaks of, or it that going to be a true, bonafide TV series spin-off?

This season Walking Dead has been the highest rated cable show on tv and Talking Dead is #2 lol!

I want 7 Walking Dead shows running at the same time; one each day of the week. A few in the US, a couple in Europe (but nobody survives those ones; just a show about snooty Euro-trash walkers eating pidgeons), one in a tropical paradise so it's like "Dead Island", and one in China. Could you imagine the sheer fucking size of the walker hordes in China?!

I liked the mid season finale. Damn I was hoping for the Governor's surrogate daughter to live. Daryl was badass. I enjoyed the Rick-Governor fight ,but man he was getting destroyed. I don't think the baby's dead.

I enjoyed the finale too. Like you I don't think the baby's dead...nor do I think the Governor is dead. They never showed him actually die. Another reason Michone should be killed...this is TWICE now she's had the opportunity to kill the governor and she didn't. She sticks him and walks away...screw that, stick him multiple times and witness him turn if that's your game. Then they show the governors new girlfriend point the gun and "boom". I don't buy it. Here's what's gonna happen, first scene of the new season, his girlfriend chickens out last second and moves the gun a couple millimeters so it hits the ground next to him...then in her "nurse-y" ways fixes him up and nurses him back to life again....long live the governor.

This was the gnarliest episode yet. Literally like 1/4 of the cast was killed off in one episode.
I don't think that baby is dead, either. There was a little blood in the seat, but that doesn't mean anything. I do, however, think the Governor is dead. I don't even think it's supposed to be a "is he or isn't he" situation. I know, I know; we didn't actually see him die, and this show has a history of bringing back characters, but he did take a fucking samurai sword straight through the chest. Then, after the shot by what's-her-face, they showed the little chess piece with the eye-patch lying on it's side- sort of like a symbol of his death. on top of that, on the aftershow they always do this tribute to the characters who have died on the show, and they included the Governor this time. This isn't like the end of last season where it was a big mystery. This time he got run through with a sword. You don't come back from that, especially in the zombie apacolypse, and especially when there is currently walkers all over the goddamn place and you're right out in the open.

And I don't know how much more bad-ass Darrly can get. The dude just single handedly killed a tank. That's it. Game over, man. Game over. You win.

I'm curious to see where things go from here. The group is seriously fractured at this point. From what I gathered, the main characters are currently split up into at least 6 different groups. I'm guessing someone is going to run into Carol, and the group is going to come back together in some fashion, but I don't see a full blown reunion. For at least the rest of this season, I'm guessing we're going to be seeing a few different plots for a few different groups.

Well right when I said they completely went away from the book, they went back and followed the book some.

Even the closing seen was the last page of the big issue where Carl and Rick are climbing the hill and Rick says "dont look back Carl"

I wont give stuff away (i couldnt anyways, because they are barely following the book), but for those interested in the prison invasion in the book Lauri (who was still alive in the book) gets shot and killed by the Governors girlfriend (who wasnt his girlfriend in the book btw lol) and the bullet kills lauri who falls on the baby and kills the baby as well. The woman is so upset she killed a baby that she kills the governor.

I agree with you guys that the baby isnt dead though. It could be that AMC said "even we arent so fucked up that we will show a baby getting killed" but i am leaning with you guys and think the baby is alive.

The governor is definitely dead though. I think he already signed on to star in another show lol.

I thought someone told me that it was actually the Governor who shot and killed Lori, which in turn pissed off that woman, causing her to kill the Governor (by pushing him into a a group of walkers I believe).

But yeah, I'm not against gratuitous violence on TV, but I certainly could do without seeing a baby devoured by zombies. That would've been a bit much.
