| Not sure if this is a common question in the MMA world tonight, but I feel I need to ask it nonetheless;
Did Leben use the cut as an excuse to give up in the Munoz fight?
Before I say anymore, I should clarify that I think Leben is one the most bad-ass, hardcore, and tough-ass-nails fighters in the world. But it's that idea that makes me think this question is worth asking. I'm not trying to knock the guy in any way.
But he seemed like he wanted out of the fight for some reason. He was given every chance to continue the fight, and while he did opt to continue at one point, he didn't seem to be "all in". At the end of the round, he was asked if he could see, and he said no. There was no blood at that point, but it's possible that he had neurological or plain old eye damge, and that's why he couldn't see. I don't know. It just seemd like a weird situation to me, and I want to know what you guys saw.

| Leben looked completely gassed by the end of the first round and when the second round started he was still breathing pretty heavy. I do agree that something about this fight seemed strange, I wouldn't want to say that Leben quit... be it sure looked that way when he was talking to his corner at the end of the 2nd.
I didn't really get a good look at his eye after the fight, but it looked nasty around the 3min mark of the 2nd round.

| Yes, I think he quit. Love the guy, been a fan since TUF. But he quit, in the interview he even said he couldn't see due to blood in his eye... Thats not a quitable offence IMO. The cuts weren't bad, he could see when the blood was wiped and the swelling was very low still. IDK the whole fight was off IMO but one thing Im sure of, Leben didn't want it anymore. | |

| I hate these questions ..... this is a guy who brought it for the first round. Perhaps one of the fiercest first rounds in a long time. Both men pounding away... something has to give, Leben's eye? Leben's cut? Leben's gas tank?
Did he "quit" maybe... is a quit worse than a tap? Is a quit worse that verbally tapping? Is a quit worse than rolling over and giving up a choke so you can tap? Is a quit worse than a ref or doc stop?
C'mon...... Leben brought it, gave it his best and couldn't give more.
I appreciated the fight, Leben's efforts Munoz's efforts. Good fight and got my money's worth... heh.
