The UFC has located a last-minute replacement for injured Mackens Semerzier. Robert Peralta has agreed to make his big league debut against Mike Lullo at “UFC Fight Night 25: Battle on the Bayou,” which finalizes the card’s 12-bout roster exactly one week before showtime.
Semerzier was recently forced out of his featherweight contest against Lullo with an undisclosed injury.
The event takes place September 17th inside the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. A welterweight scrap between Jake Shields and Jake Ellenberger will headline the UFC’s second-to-last fight card on Spike TV.
A middleweight contest with “The Ultimate Fighter 11” winner Court McGee and Dongi Yang will serve as the night’s co-featured contest.
Spike will broadcast the event’s main card starting at 9PM ET/PT.
Here is the card’s complete lineup:
Main Bouts:
Jake Shields vs. Jake Ellenberger Court McGee vs. Dongi Yang Alan Belcher vs. Jason MacDonald Jonathan Brookins vs. Erik Koch
Preliminary Bouts:
Jorge Lopez vs. Justin Edwards Mike Lullo vs. Robert Peralta Daniel Roberts vs. T.J. Waldburger Clay Harvison vs. Seth Baczynski Ken Stone vs. Donny Walker Lance Benoist vs. Matt Riddle Evan Dunham vs. Shamar Bailey Vagner Rocha vs. Cody McKenzie
Seems like a decent tv event. As always this has the potential to be better than some PPV's. This has been the case in some of the successful fight nights/UFC on Versus events etc etc.

The only thing I can complain about on this card is there is no wow factor, no star power at all. Theres not a single big name that the casual fan is gonna recognize... but like you said, a lot of these events have been diamonds in the rough.

I will watch it, of course, but there isn't anything there that really jumps off the page at me. jake Shields is what will bring the viewers. Most casual mma fans know him from either Strikeforce, Bully Beatdown or simply from his title shot.

Oh and BTW, "Battle on the Bayou" is atrocious. I seriously hope that this doesn't become a trend. Just name the events the same as always. There is something great about the events and the fights selling the card. Not some catchy name.
