SAN DIEGO - If it's up to Tito Ortiz, his next fight will be that one he's long wanted against Quinton "Rampage" Jackson. But "King Mo" Lawal is doing his best to agitate his way into a fight with Ortiz, who defeated Stephan Bonnar on Saturday night in the main event of Bellator 131. At the post-fight press conference at Valley View Casino Center, Lawal, who TKO'd Joe Vedepo earlier in the main card, made his case. "Now if you want some, you get some," Lawal said. "I'm just saying. You fought Bonnar and Bonnar has been gone for two years. That's fine. I'll Django your ass. Straight up, Django. I will bust your ass, straight up. I'm serious." Ortiz, who had earlier indicated he'd be fine with fighting Lawal, brushed off Lawal's belligerence.. "Everyone wants to fight me," Ortiz said. "Get in line." Lawal remained unimpressed. "You ain't going to fight me, I know that," Lawal said. "You're going to be, ‘my neck, my back, my knee.'" Earlier, Ortiz had been asked about a potential match with Jackson, a bout which was originally scheduled to headline a pay-per-view card in Nov. 2013, before Ortiz had to pull out with a neck injury. IF TITOS TAKEDOWNS WERENT SO SLOW AND PREDICTABLE IN THE BONNAR FIGHT ID SAY HE WOULD BEAT MO BUT LOOKING AT HOW STIFF AND SLOW TITO IS I THINK MO WOULD JUST GAS TITO OUT AND DECISION HIM.

Yeah I'm not overly impressed with Lawal, but I agree with him that Tito wants no part of that fight.

If Bellator is going all in on Tito (and they certainly seem to be), letting King Mo murder him in front of a national audience is probably not the best of ideas.
Also, it kind of seems like Bellator has broken up with Mo a little. They were marketing him pretty good for awhile there, but when he lost those two title fights they seemed like they kind of moved on. The last thing they wanna do is let their ex-girlfriend beat the ever-loving piss out of their new girlfriend.

maybe this is bellators way of making mo the face of the company..
use tito for a while to do what he does.
give him a fight against the 185 champ and tito wins
give him a fight against rampage but he gets hurt and it allows him to keep bellator in the news with big named fighters
have this whole thing with bonnar.. when they never had any blood between them and bonnar shows up late to the fight because it looks like he was at the all you could eat buffet before the bell rang and tito wins in a controversial format.
all along while this is going on mo is getting fights at a lower level to build up his resume. now have him go and face tito
tito gets smashed king mo is the greatest fighter in bellator history
sets up a rematch for mo vs rampage and it would be a huge thing....
if mo beats rampage he would have 2 big names under his belt and hopefully he could beat whoever the 205 champ is at that time..

in all honesty how many fights does tito have?
what would happen if a guy like malik merad beat tito ortiz??
so i think they are paying tito to get the wheels rolling and they will have mo and rampage try to carry it from there for a while just until these other fighters are more mainstream.

Makes sense, but I got the impression that Lawal was just kind of doing his own thing by calling Tito out, not being encouraged by Bellator brass to do so.
Also, he already lost to Newton in title fights twice, so it'd be a pretty tough sell to get him a third fight, even with wins over Tito and Rampage (which would be hoping for a lot of things to work out the right way, especially considering Rampage already beat him once).
And like I said, Bellator tried to make King Mo the face of the company once already and he fell on his face, so I wouldn't bet they'd be so quick to start putting eggs back into that basket.

I think Bellator secretly hates Emanuel Newton for fucking everything up for them by winning all the goddamn time. lol

My money is on Bellator putting all hope in Mcgeary taking the W and the title from Newton to shake it all up.

Yeah, if they can get somebody to take it from Newton, that will free up a lot of things.
Too bad for Newton if he loses it though, because I'm sure Bellator would make his road back to the title as difficult as possible, given that he doesn't fit the mold they apparently love of a loud-mouth, pro-wrestler wannabe.

I wonder how many fights he has left in his contract...

mcgeary is a beast dude shows a lot of skill in his fights and he is 6'6...

im still not sold on newton. hes game to fight thats for sure. i think he is a perfect fit for the bellator model but anything bigger than bellator and i doubt he would do anything.

he showed some sweet sub defense in his last fight tho and that impressed me a bit
