Yup, Esparza may win... but she won't be winning many fans with the style she relies on. The whole division may be one of the most exciting aside from when the Champ will be fighting...

Here's to hoping she won't be the face of the division.

There's no reason Rose shouldn't win the belt with ease. She is absolutely miles above anyone else on that show. Who else have you seen throw 3 lighting fast head shots while bouncing on one foot to defend a takedown?? From what I've seen Esparza isn't half the fighter Rose is. I'm convinced that if she doesn't win she didn't try.

Rose is clearly the most well-rounded and polished fighter on the show, IMO. But Esparza has that kind of dominant wrestling game that can just plain take the fight out of any fight. I don't think Carla is nearly the fighter that Rose is either, but she doesn't have to be if she can blanket her way to a decision and eliminate as much actual fighting as possible. I don't think she'd be able to do it for 3 full rounds, but I can't in good conscience completely rule it out, either.

Yeah that's very true.

The only reason I think Rose has a good chance against that is what she did to Calderwood, she sunk in a submission with Calderwood on top that none of us could even see. I'm hoping she can nullify some of Carla's oatmeal with some slick ground work.

Yeah, and I would imagine Carla would be a little apprehensive to spend too much time in the ground with her after seeing what she's been able to.
Hopefully Penne takes out all of the guess work and we never even have to find out.

I actually think Penne is the better fighter and i think she will actually beat Carla.

Surprisingly I wasn't that impressed with Rose this time....even though she won. I thought Randa was working her until she got caught with that kimura

I don't know what fight you were watching, honestly. Nothing really happened in the standup. They were feeling each other out, then Rose did that little shuffle and Randa rushed her. But regardless of what Dana thinks he saw, Randa landed maybe (MAYBE!) one clean punch. Then they clinched, Rose gets top position, Randa tries to sweep and Rose overpowers her to stay on top. They scramble, Randa ends up on top, but immediately finds herself in trouble, and is submitted within moments.
Other than Randa ending up in top position after a scramble and getting submitted shortly thereafter, what exactly did she have to offer Rose in that fight?

I have to say that I feel the complete opposite as you. Randa has been nothing short of dominant on the ground against everyone she'd faced in the tournament, and Rose absolutely schooled her with superior strength and technique.

Yeah, I saw one grazing punch on the feet and then clinch and Rose was never in any trouble thereafter.

Did anyone else find it ridiculously hypocritical when all of the sudden Carla had really hardly any issue at all with her and Penne training at the same time/same place, but in preparation for the previous fight her and Whorrig were so vehemently against the idea that a meeting was necessary, followed by them basically declaring war on Randa over it?
I just found that so blatantly childish and two-faced that I somehow lost even more respect for those two fucktards, which I didn't think was possible.

Dunno man...I think maybe it was the fact that Rose was a bully every other fight...totally dictated every move. This time I think I really liked that Randa got in her face and bullied her back....didn't win, but bullied her back. Not sure why, just wasn't as impressed.

I didn't see it going down that way. Rose probably too confident in her ground game to have ever practiced any takedown defense?
If I was in Rose's corner before the 3rd round I would have coached a gameplan to just go for takedowns since it was clear it was going nowhere on the feet with Carla getting one simple takedown after another. Her only chance was to try to score a TD herself and work a sub.

Yeah I was surprised by Carla as well. I figured she'd probably win the fight, but not in such active fashion. I figured we'd get a steady dose of takedowns followed by some stalling tactics and weak-but-just-busy-enough-to-avoid-a-referee-standup GnP. The first round looked good for Rose, and I actually had her winning it, but Carla's takedowns kept coming easier and more frequently. Once she got into a good position she did a good job of going for the finish and putting Rose away. I think she was smart not to try and cruise, because Rose is always dangerous.

The rest of the TUF fights were really good!! Penne vs Markos was awesome, Calderwood vs Ham was a good brawl (though lacking in much technicality), and Magana got absolutely lit up from bell to bell by Torres. Rawlings/Clarke was terrible, though.

Yeah...wow was I surprised too. I completely expected a one sided technical majesty by Rose, not for a second did I expect Carla to put a one sided beat down on her. Really great win for Carla, I gotta hand it to her, she dominated and was impressive.

Rose should do nothing the next 4-6 months except train with the best wrestlers she can get access to. Just train TDD until she hates life.

Oh, that and squats. Lots and lots of squats to make sure that ass keeps nice and tight.
