- Because of the many controversial decisions that have taken place recently in Las Vegas, including Manny Pacquiao vs Timothy Bradley, Georges St. Pierre vs Johny Hendricks, and a strange scorecard in the Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs Canelo Alvarez fight Where judge C.J. Ross scored the fight a draw. Many media members have recently been adamant that a change needs to take place in the way the Nevada State Athletic Commission does business.
UFC President Dana White has been vocal about changes that need to be made, and has even gone so far as to say he is “scared” of putting fights on in Las Vegas.
Because of the controversy, the NSAC has decided to host a public workshop on Dec. 2 at 9 A.M. in the Grant Sawyer State Office in Las Vegas, Nev.

| So it sounds like this isn't to improve the judging in any way, but simply to take questions from anyone who might have concerns about the judging. So basicly "We've done nothing wrong, and we'd be happy to explain that to anyone who disagrees". | |

| The judges are not MMA experts. They are appointed by the government and likely don't get the job unless they know someone or there is some quota that needs to be filled.
Another reason why Dana wants finishers. It is bad for the sport when fights go to decision since judges are terrible and Dana does not get to hire judges. | |
