- According to UFC president Dana White,
a shoulder injury has forced Antonio Rogerio Nogueira out of his “UFC 133: Evans vs. Ortiz” showdown with Rich Franklin. The light heavyweights were slated to co-headline the August 6th pay-per-view broadcast. Although we’re exactly 21 days away from showtime, White claimed they are currently scouring the globe for a suitable replacement. Guilherme Cruz of TATAME.com was the first to break the news Saturday night. He also tweeted that Fabio Maldonado declined to face the former middleweight champion due to short notice. Speaking of 11th hour injuries, the news comes just days after the organization was desperately searching for a 205-pound replacement to headline the show opposite Rashad Evans. Phil Davis was forced to withdraw from the featured contest on Monday with a knee injury. Former champion Tito Ortiz ultimately volunteered to serve as a last-minute substitute to face “Suga.” 5th RoundI knew all this action was too good to be true! | |

| I really hope they find a replacement. Machida would be cool, big challenge for Rich and it would put asses in the seats. Hopefully it will be a striker that Franklin can go to war with to make up for what would have been an exciting bout with Nog. | |
