| Sorry for posting a bleacherreport article, lol, but it's a fun read. - Quote :
- If you want to be a professional MMA fighter, what is the quality that you should possess first and foremost? Athletic ability? No. Childhood karate classes? No. The answer is toughness.
All great fighters have the ability to take a punch and fight through it.
Some fighters, however, have a seemingly inhuman ability to receive punishment. Whether over the course of a single fight or over several years, they inspire us with their durability. Many have built reputations off of being able to take a beating. They are indestructible.
In some cases, we see a fighter victimized by a particularly vicious looking strike or technique and we have to take a step back and just say, "Wow, how did he survive that?"
Throughout MMA's history, there have always been indestructible fighters, but these are the ones that stand out. Even if their durability may have started falling off at some point, their reputations precede them.
These are the 15 most indestructible fighters in MMA history. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1076234-the-15-most-indestructible-fighters-in-mma-history

| Actually a good article, all good picks. I wasn't sure about Diaz at first but he did take a beating from Cyborg and Daley before putting them away. | |

| It took you all the way to those two fights to be sure about Diaz? He's been famously un-KOable for years. | |

| Yea but who has he really fought who landed some really good shots on him before those two? He was always a scrappy motherfucker but Daley and Santos really tested his chin. | |

| I'm not saying those two fights didn't certainly solidify it for him, but his fights against Lawler, Diego Sanchez, Joe Riggs, and Takanori Gomi were clear benchmarks in his resume of being able to take punishment and keep coming forward. | |

| Why was Clay Guida not on this list? | |

I just re-read my first post, it wasn't all that clear. I always thought Diaz was a tough SOB. It was those two fights that made me believe he should be high on that list. Sam, good point about Guida. Didn't he take a head kick against Diego that could have felled a small tree?

| Yeah, you rarely see Guida finished...even by the most aggressive fighters. | |

| Yeah, I guess Diaz being more in the public eye as of late has really put the spotlight on his toughness.
Also, Guida did get "honorable mention" status on this list.

| Lytle was probably the most hardcore in that bunch. that guy fought ever one and has never been ko'ed and the guy has over 40 fights. his fight with dan hardy was pretty epic too. | |
