| I was wondering the same thing as were a few others when Stipe made his debut. http://www.mmastandard.net/t635-could-stipe-miocic-be-ufc-s-next-great-heavyweight?highlight=stipe | |

| ok... after looking, that isn't even the thread I was thinking of... But I know we talked about it somewhere. But I think what the conclusion was, was that the name Stipe is the Croatian equivalent to John and that it wasn't him. | |

Yeah that was my stance on the issue. I haven't done the research, but I wouldn't be surprised if "Stipe" was an extremely common name in Croatia. On top of that, our boy Stipe from the old site seemed to be very obviously from Croatia and/or had very close ties to the Cro Cop camp, while the Stipe who won on Wednesday was clearly very much American, due to his complete lack of a foreign accent and American demeanor (and according to his intro, was fighting out of Ohio). I know that isn't definitive evidence, but neither is the fact that his name is Stipe conclusive that it's the same guy. But hey; We can hope, right?!

Our stipe had some problem with the english language whereas the guy who fought on Fuel almost sounded like a hillbilly haha
