Ehhh, I saw some serious concern on his face.

Now THAT was some bad ass Kimura put on Big Nog. Franks the only guy I know of that has broken two arms in the UFC.... gotta be some sort of record.

Old guard Brazilian fighters don't tap, ever from my understanding;
they either go out fighting or tap after something snaps.

I knew he wasn't going to tap, looked to be in some discomfort that for sure;
I also thought it was a popped or separated shoulder.

I think he was probably in shock more than anything, it comes on really fast
especially in a big bone break like that; straight up nasty by Mir.

Hmmm but the game says ... fight till the ref stops the fight. Is Brain injury better than a broken arm... just cause you cant see it?

I think the worse record is Nogs.... Not understanding when to tap so the other guy doesnt get traumatized by having to break your arm.

I see what your saying, it makes sense; one does not necessarily make the other any better.
It is definitely not the Nog doesn't understand when to tap, it s a pride thing for the old fighters; they know it takes something special to go to that next level and be prepared to injure your opponent if they will not tap. Not all BJJ fighters are capable of that level, a prime example imo
is GSP; has too much respect for his opponent to injure them by submission.

Mir is a bad mutha, he has done it before; although it is not like he went right to the break.
He applies as much pressure as he feels is enough to get his opponent to tap and if they don't
"Snap"; all that has to be said is Big Nog has too much Pride to tap out. Which is why it has never happened before, Mir was the way stronger man physically in that fight; his leverage was
too much for Big Nog.

I remember what Renzo said after Sakuraba broke his elbow all to shit: "I let him get me in that position, I didn't tap because I deserved it." Paraphrasing of course, but still...
