| - Quote :
- Just days after dominating MMA journeyman Jeff Monson in Moscow, Russia, Fedor Emelianenko's manager Vadim Finkelstein is already trying to secure a fight against former UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez.
"We are determined to move forward, and would like to offer the UFC a fight between Cain Velasquez and Fedor Emelianenko," Finkelstein said in an interview with Championat.ru. "M-1 Global would take a full responsibility of organizing the fight sometime during 2012 in Moscow, Russia. I can guarantee Dana White great revenue from this fight, and a record-breaking attendance. M-1 Global is ready for dialogue, and would be happy to consider an option of organizing such tournament with combined efforts. I will make an offer to 'my best friend' [UFC president Dana White] pretty soon, so we'll see what he has to say."
Fedor looked a lot more like his former self against Monson, connecting at will with clean shots, and forcing Monson to stand and trade.
Some have been quick to dismiss Fedor as a legitimate heavyweight, given his losses to Fabricio Werdum, Antonio Silva and Dan Henderson, but I really don't think his skills have declined that much. Carelessness cost Fedor the fight against Werdum, and he looked good against Henderson until Dan pulled off switch.
Silva was the only one that beat Fedor decisively, and it's a little unfair to write the MMA legend off after only one poor performance.
Fedor enjoyed a long reign at the top of MMA's heavyweight division, securing wins over some of the best fighters in Pride, and he's still a legitimate heavyweight in my book. It would be nice to see him face some of the top fighters in the division.
Source absolutely warranted!

| i see dana agreeing to this fight only to humiliate fedor into retirement, which would be a huge waste of time and resources....so i dont see it happening.....
on m1's side of course they will do anything promotion wise to get fedor a legit opponent to begin revitalizing his legacy. I do believe him (fedor) and his staff realize that between sf and ufc 99.9% of the top fighters are under contract and the feeding pool is drying up.....suck it up and take what dana offers(prob not that much) or fade away!

| How many times does Dana have to say "NO!" before this guy just let's it go?
You are not gonna co-promote a UFC fight. You are not gonna get a UFC fighter to fight under your promotion- even for one fight. You are not gonna get Fedor a fight in the UFC against a top guy. If he's gonna fight in the UFC, he's gotta fight someone below top level to start. Because beating Jeff Monson after 3 straight losses does not earn you top UFC billing.
No. Stop it. | |

| ^^ I'll second that____" YYEEEEUUUUUUUUUUP!" <--(Storage Wars - Dave)
and add that he has done nothing to deserve a fight with any top tier HW in the UFC;
Fedor .vs. Big Country
(Not discrediting Big Country's skill at all by that)
Beat Roy, then we'll look at getting you some bigger names; there is a paper trail of guys they should fight before even looking in Cain's direction.

| Vadim just wants Cain since he saw it was a looping overhand right that put him out and thats all his boy Fedor has to offer, so he sees it as a good match up. | |

| Ok....
David King is an idiot and should never be allowed to write again. He obviously did not watch the same fight anyone else did.
Vadim ... is an idiot if he thinks Dana will even be able to answer this question before he chokes to death laughing
Fedor remains a Paper Emperor of nothing.
M1 is a joke and they all should be sent to Russia..... .... ... (oh yeah, sorry about that). and refering to a past thread these guys are not commies... they are really bad capitalists.

| Let's be honest here... Fedor/M-1/FinkelDouche won't even have a crack at anything UFC or maybe even StrikeForce anymore. M-1 and FinkleDouche are truly the cancer on Fedor's career.
The only chance and maybe just maybe if Fedor can get into the UFC is TUF... lol.. Just like Kimbo Slice did, Fedor will have to prove himself through the Ultimate Fighter house because losing 3 in a row and winning an un-eventful fight does nothing for your Stocks.
