Bobby Lashley Returns to MMA in November to Face "Titties"

Former pro wrestler turned MMA fighter Bobby Lashley has his next fight set. The former Strikeforce fighter will face Darrill Schoonover in the main event of a Shark Fights show on November 11. Schoonover is the reigning Shark Fights Heavyweight champion (though he has not defended the title since winning it in 2009), and the bout will be a title fight.

Lashley received a lot of attention when he made his MMA debut in 2008 thanks to his run as a professional wrestler in Vince McMahon's WWE. Lashley put together a 5-0 record, including wins over Bob Sapp, Jason Guida, and Wes Sims, before being defeated by Chad Griggs in a Strikeforce fight last year. Since the Griggs loss, Lashley has had only one fight, a March 2011 win over John Ott in Titan FC. In the meantime, Lashley has also begun to refocus on his pro wrestling career, including a wrestling match in Japan earlier this year, and an upcoming match scheduled in Canada.

Schoonover is likely best known to fans for his run on The Ultimate Fighter Season 10, where he was a frequent target of mockery at the hands of Rampage Jackson.

I can't fucking believe that Lashley is actually getting any sort of non-WWE title shot... absurd! The dude looked like ass his last 2 fights... I hope Titties puts Bobby's MMA career to rest.

I am surprised chrom, i thought with lashleys wrestling back ground you would be on board with this. he is a lot like broc in the sense of back grounds and where they came from. but lashley isn't for every one. I kind of respect the guy for the fact he was offered so much more in the mma world and refused most and even went as far as to say he felt he wasn't ready for that level.

Dude, Shark Fights isn't really an org to go bragging about being a champion in. Fuck, I could probably go win a Shark Fights title tommorrow.

Thats part of the reason I dislike him so much. Go hard or go home. Don't step in and half ass the fuck out of it. When he came into MMA he should have left WWE/TNA or what the fuck ever behind. But instead he chooses to walk the tight rope and half ass it... and his MMA performances show it.



But of course... had he been a Gopher I would likely have a different stance.

Lashley is also pushing for a super fight of sorts between him and Dave Batista, would definitely get all the pro wrestling fan pumped right up!

Meh ... let the guy fight and earn his rep on his skill. I don't think we'll see him in the big shows anytime soon. Big muscle doesnt mean big skill for sure. Having said that ... Im always up for a circus fight and watching him fight another WWE wee wee would be kinda interesting.
