- While most Americans were busy griping over returning to their places of employment this fine Monday morning, a couple of UFC fighters now wish they had a job to complain about. After running the reverse trifecta, the planet’s premier mixed martial arts promotion has decided to release welterweight John “Doomsday” Howard.
MMAWeekly confirmed the news with Howard’s manager, Malki Kawa, this morning.
Howard started off his Octagon career with a perfect 4-0 mark, but quickly found himself on an extended losing skid when the level of competition stiffened. The 28-year-old dropped successive fights to Jake Ellenberger, Thiago Alves and most recently Matt Brown at “UFC on Versus 4.”
