My granddaughter thought it would be cool to bounce a golf ball off of my son's plasma screen. The Future Shop warranty he bought actually covered it. But he kinda lied about the big white line down the middle of the screen and failed to relate it to the golf ball bouncing.

Not on TVs bro, just smaller stuff like laptops, cameras, etc. You should look into buying a refurbished TV to replace it. Usually they have a 90 day warranty and they're a lot cheaper than brand new.

The problem you might run into is last year's Samsung 3D TVs used Infa-red but the new ones use bluetooth. So if you have one from last year you'd have to buy another of the same/similar model.

It was the PN50C680, I think its the older model.... so what would that mean? they have to be the same for the glasses to work?

Just make sure that if you get a new TV it's one of the Samsungs that use the infared glasses, not the bluetooth ones...which means you're going to have to get something from last years models. The good thing is it's going to be cheaper than you originally paid
