Scott Coker: "We're going after all free agents, including Rory MacDonald"

“It really comes down to, we’re Bellator, and we’re going to go after all free agents,” Coker told MMAFighting. “When (MacDonald’s) contract is up, and I think he might have some contingencies in the negotiation period, and we’re not going to breach any contracts. But when they are ready to talk, we’re here and Rory’s somebody we’d definitely be interested in when he’s free.”

Bellator has signed several former UFC fighters, like Tito Ortiz, Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, Josh Koscheck, Benson Henderson, Josh Thomson, Matt Mitrione, and several others. MacDonald would certainly fit the mold of a prominent fighter that still has the ability to compete with any of the top fighters that Bellator has to offer.

Before MacDonald lost to Thompson, I would've felt very confident in betting that he was staying with the UFC.
But now that he lost and there's no clear path back to the UFC title anytime soon, I'm sure he'd rather go to Bellator and have the red title shot carpet rolled out to him right out of the gate without having to climb up the ladder, just like they did for Ben Henderson.

that would be an excellent fight for bellator and all fight fans.

rory mac needs to pull the trigger in big fights. I wouldn't be surprised if what happened to Henderson happened to rory.

Bellator makes a good place for guys on the downslope to make a little bit of cash before the big exit. I wish them well. Some fights are ok but most are like Dada and Kimbo or Gracie and Shamrock but what the heck some come back to life like Andre (if only for a bit). If Rory has a resurgence I'm sure he will be invited back maybe even Henderson but you have to ask.... Really?

I wanna see Tank make a comeback fight with BJ Penn..... Now there's a fight Bellator would put on!
