1. he always said he wanted to make his money and leave 2. maybe he reinjured his acl again 3.maybe the death if the guy in the cage last week haunted him 4. maybe he wants to give his hand at boxing and go for super big paydays
all legit reasons for him to quit
I wonder if this is a troll job or not..
who would be the headliner to save ufc 200 if true??????

Just posted on the other thread what actually happened. Dana called into ESPN to explain it.
Spoiler- it's a pretty dick move, but it's none of the above.

this is an explanation from Ariel Helwani
if this is true, and he paints a pretty reasonable picture, it is a dick move by ufc. To pull him from the card as a punishment for not showing up for a early promotional event, with not considering the possible trauma that connor and his whole team are going through, is incredibly soulless and materialistic. i suspect that there was more than just "im not going to this event" being spoken on the phone, and the truth will come out soon. But to spur Connor to say fuck you to Dana and ufc, he must have been pretty offended by their actions. ,,, Connor in bellator or rizin...if this does not blow over

So true. As much as I like watching him fight, I'd be perfectly fine if Dana just totally fucked him over. It's not like he's in the "starving fighter" category. He's already a multi millionaire.

that's the exact issue here - MMA is so thirsty for that glorified star that they try to promote conor as Jordan, gretzky, ali, Mayweather, etc and he isn't even close to any of them in terms of status. The guy is an excellent striker with a great talk game and that is about it. His fight against diaz showed that conor had shit cardio in that fight, no wrestling, no sub defense, and what I would call a suspect chin. Diaz is a natural lw and he rung conors bell several times where conor to avoid being knocked out cold tried to turn into a wrestler then he ultimately quit. ive grown to be a fan of conors because no matter what he always brings it and is exciting but if he was to really retire I think the MMA community would forget about him for the most part.
conor retiring on a loss like that destroys anything he tried to build
conor trolling and isn't retired seems super fishy like he is ducking, or he was going to get popped for juice.
this imo is a big lose lose for conor and not necessarily the UFC

Per ESPN text alerts (905am CT): Connor Tweets, “OK, no more games. I am going to release a statement shortly.”
