August 15, 2011 Comments (0) In a week or so, Nick Diaz will enter training camp for the biggest fight of his life against UFC Welterweight champion Georges "Rush" St-Pierre. Diaz has a chance to wear the top prize in MMA, the UFC 170-pound championship when he enters the octagon on October 29th at UFC 137 in Las Vegas, NV.
Various news sites across the internet have been stating that the Cesar Gracie fighter will be spending time with super middleweight boxer Andre Ward.
Ward is currently the WBA champion and slotted as No. 9 in the pound-for-pound world rankings.
"Andre is very quick and athletic," Gracie said. "GSP is an athletic guy. I don't think he's the best boxer in the world, but he's fast and quick out there. To get used to a guy like Andre Ward, GSP won't be really that big of a threat speed-wise if Nick gets used to Andre."
Georges St-Pierre is known as an all around fighter with superb wrestling skills and black belt level Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Gracie says he will be acquiring Wrestlers and incorporate a ton of that into Diaz' training camp.
"The best thing for Nick to do is really not to try to necessarily stop that, and not care where it's going to go," he said. "It's on the ground? We'll fight on the ground. It's standing up? We'll fight standing up. Seriously, it's like, don't worry about it. A lot of people try to stop that and get in the game of who the more explosive athlete is. I don't think that's where we want to go."
One thing is for sure, this is one of the fights that will make for the history books as two of the top welterweights clash in the center of the octagon to find out who the real 170-pound fighter really is!

| I'm sorry I really like Nick Diaz but I'm sure this will be the bloody finish people are looking to get from GSP. | |

| I'm of the idea that yes; Nick will press GSP and it will be a great fight. However, GSP is a master at making fights unbearably boring to watch and making sure there is as little offense as possible in a fight. Hopefully Nick can make this fight exciting, but either way, GSP is gonna do what GSP does and find a way to drag this one to decision. | |
