Conor McGregor Searching for Opponent, Won’t Face Jose Aldo-Chad Mendes Winner

When UFC president Dana White suggested Conor McGregor (pictured) could be next up for a crack at the featherweight crown, most fans thought it was too much too soon for the boisterous youngster after just four trips to the octagon.

When McGregor confirmed he would be making the trek to Brazil to watch reigning 145-pound champ Jose Aldo defend his title against Chad Mendes on the UFC’s dime, his featherweight peers started to get agitated because it appeared as though White’s new golden boy was getting a free pass to the front of the line.

Well, don’t get your feathers all ruffled, UFC featherweights.

While McGregor will still be sitting front and center at UFC 179, it appears that “Notorious’” next bout won’t be for the belt.

“I am looking forward to going to Brazil this week to see the Number 1 contender fight between Aldo and Mendes. Who gets to face the KING?” McGregor tweeted Wednesday. “Because Aldo’s body is weak and Mendes is 2foot nothing, they will not be ready to challenge me for the throne until mid next year. Myself, Uncle Frank and the rest of La Familia are in the process of selecting another victim to eliminate in the meantime.

“I demand all scared contenders bow before me and kiss each individual toe, in a public setting of my choice, for pardoning from execution. You’ve 24hrs to come forward and surrender your woman and all your belongings or you’ll be hunted down and your head placed in my collection. TICK,TOCK..”

winner of edgar/swanson would be a great fight for conor and can only help pull him closer to his belt.

I also think a McGregor/Jeremy Stephens fight would be a lot of fun!

Yeah that does sound like a good fight actually. I think i still have Conor taking this fight.

It is, but Dana wants to keep him active while not putting him in too much danger. McGregor will be fighting for the title soon, but not if he runs into a top-5 wrestler and gets smothered to a UD loss.
Dana wants to milk him for as long as possible. I mean, both Aldo and Mendes called him out after the title fight. I'm not sure I've even seen that before.

i really wish they would give bermudez the shot at mcgregor. that would be a war
