| - Quote :
- UFC middleweight contender Vitor Belfort appeared before the Nevada Athletic Commission on Wednesday seeking a license to fight. The commission unanimously voted to grant Belfort a license under three conditions: 1) He will not fight prior to December, 2) His fight would be in Las Vegas, and 3) He make himself available for any and all drug testing at his expense.
While Belfort doesn’t have a signed bout agreement at the moment, his lawyer, Michael Alonzo, said his client has a verbal agreement to face champion Chris Weidman on Dec. 6 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas. Immediately following Belfort’s approval, the Ultimate Fighting Champion issued a press release confirming that Weidman vs. Belfort would headline UFC 181 on Dec. 6 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas. More details forthcoming… http://www.mmaweekly.com/vitor-belfort-gets-approval-from-nevada-to-fight-chris-weidman-in-december

| Well now the question is how is he gonna perform without the aid of TRT? I've said it before and I'll say it again; I don't think TRT-less Belfort beats anybody in the top 5 of the MW division. I'm betting that killer that was out there head-kicking people into la la land will be nowhere to be found in this fight, and likely ever again. | |

| I heard an interview with Weidman the other day and he sounded pretty cool. They asked him if he was going to make sure that Vegas was strict with their drug testing on Vitor for their fight and he pretty much said "No, I want the fight to happen" | |

| So it sounds like he's saying he thinks Vitor still isn't clean (i.e. if they test him too much, Weidman thinks he'll fail). | |

| Yeah the way I wrote it sounded that way and there probably was some of that tone, but when he said it he said it more like "i dont care if he is on anything or not i think i can win and i just want to fight"
I liked his attitude in the interview.

I liked his attitude in the interview. OK........let me preface this by saying Chris has a right to say Vitor should not now or have ever been on TRT. I'm in 100% agreement with him on that. And nothing I'm about to post is to make him "look bad" or anything, but if you think that's what his attitude is, I think you're very mistaken. Here's a few quotes from him from some different points in time: - Quote :
- "You know, it's hard for me to even think about Vitor at this point, but if I'm fighting Vitor, he's gonna be tested. He's been caught twice now. I looked, last time I seen him I saw on his back, right by his shorts, there was like a little tail hanging down. He's becoming like a horse, he's got so much testosterone ... (no reaction from reporters) ... I guess that wasn't funny. I think he needs to be tested as much as possible if he's been known to fail tests."
- Quote :
“I’ve made it no secret at all my stance on TRT,” Weidman said. “I always thought it was cheating. There was just guys taking advantage of it, so it’s a huge step in the right direction for the sport to get rid of that - Quote :
- "I'm happy about (fighting in Las Vegas)," Weidman said. "He's fought in Brazil now for the last two years, and obviously he looks like the Hulk now. He's on TRT and he's been caught cheating before for testosterone and I don't know what else. … For a guy who's 36 years old to have a lot higher testosterone than me at 29 years old, and I've never taken anything, is really not fair. So I'm happy that I'll be fighting in Vegas, and I hope they'll do due diligence in testing him to make sure he's not cheating."
- Quote :
- "This is an amazing day for the sport," Weidman told MMAFighting.com. "This is something that I've wanted to see happen for quite some time. TRT was and has always been cheating, and I'm glad Nevada finally recognized that, especially since I'm about to fight there against a known TRT user. Hopefully, every other athletic commission follows because this was long overdue.
"If you need TRT to fight, you shouldn't fight. Period."
Like I said, I'm not trying to start a debate on whether he's right or wrong, but it's pretty obvious he's not carefree about it and doesn't care one way or the other.

| I like Weidman as a fighter, but like many other fighters I like, I wish they would just fight and shut the fuck up. His response to anything about TRT should just be, "I will fight anyone the UFC puts in front of me." | |

| Yeah I agree with that sentiment. I really don't care what any of my favorite fighters' opinions are on whatever buzzworthy topic happens to be in the headlines at any given time, I just like watching them fight. Chuck Liddell- loved to watch him KO people and then go apeshit afterwards all over the Octagon. Could care less how he felt about Tito, fighter pay, or the future of the sport. Anderson Silva- love watching his "ballet of violence" as Rogan put it. Could care less about how he feels about Weidman, MMA in Brazil, or hespect from fellow fighters.
The only exception is Nick Diaz. I think there should be a stip in his new contract that he be mic'd 24/7. lol

| Okay .... first off.... Nick has graduated past bongs to to a high quality Pot Atomizer (no noise). (Its actually the same Atomizer Vitor uses to ingest his PEDs.)
I'm sure by fight time Vitor will be 33% PED-free.
Weidman ... well Weidman needs to take some personality PEDs.

Like I said, I'm not trying to start a debate on whether he's right or wrong, but it's pretty obvious he's not carefree about it and doesn't care one way or the other. Definitely sounds like he is against it, but the only thing I can say is he sounded different in his interview and came off pretty cool. He either changed his stance or maybe he knows Vitor will be tested anyways so knows he doesnt have to be hard about it, not sure. I liked his fuck it lets just fight attitude though. I would rather the fighters stick to talking about fighting as well, but for me my stance is a bit stronger towards the unprovoked comments then the provoked. For instance if Weidman just made a podcast and said "this weeks topic i will talk about vitor and being on PEDs" I would roll my eyes with a big meh. But when reporters constantly ask him how he feels about it and he answers them I have less of an issue.

| Yeah, I mean I can only speak for myself here, but when I say I don't care what they have to say, I mean I don't see the need to seek out their opinions, not that they should never speak. lol The only questions IMO that should be asked by one fighter about another are questions directly pertaining to an actual fight with said fighter. I don't need a reporter to ask for Weidman's opinion on TRT because then we get shit like this where he's all over the place and we never really know how he really feels about it anyway, so what's the point? | |

| Yup totally agree. And lets face it the only reason a reporter is asking a fighter on another fighters TRT use is to try and create some tabloidy type headline. Meh. | |
