Oh yeah, I absolutely believe that is the one and only solitary reason why Dana had him removed. You know, because Dana's such a straight shooter who never let's his emotions affect his decision making.

Agreed. You essentially get a bump in their rankings if you have a fight coming up. That way they can market the fights as being more meaningful than they really are.

I actually just checked out their rankings on the site. I had the intention of digging into the recent W/L records and fight frequency of some of the fighters still ranked and pointing out hypocrisies and inconsistencies in Dana's criteria, but they made it really easy for me;

Gray Maynard is still ranked 8th. Gray Maynard who lost his last 2 fights by KO. Gray Maynard who has no fight currently scheduled. Gray Maynard who- perhaps most importantly- has not fought since losing to Nate Diaz, the very same fighter for whom Dana just used inactivity as justification for removal from the list.

Apparently inactivity/no fight scheduled is a justification that can be switched on and off like a fucking light switch by Dana.

He is turning down fights and not fighting. Remove him from the ranks until he fights then. Is it that big of a deal?

It's not a big deal at all since everyone knows the rankings don't mean crap anyway.

It's the same way I feel about the hall of fame in baseball. It's just politics and I don't need a bunch of old balls conservative voters to tell me who the best players are. They mean absolutely nothing to me, so I never get upset about who they vote or don't vote in.

I don't have an issue with him being removed, I just have an issue with Dana once again spouting out his bullshit reasoning for things he does for personal reasons.
Diaz pissed you off, so you took him off the rankings. Fine. Whatever. But don't insult my intelligrnce by trying to convince me you did it for any other reason than that.

Admittedly, that is one thing that really pisses me off every time someone does, even in my own everyday life. It's just a peeve of mine. Lol
