| The Nevada State Athletic Commission on Thursday set a new course for the controversy over therapeutic use exemptions for testosterone replacement therapy for mixed martial artists. The NSAC voted unanimously to ban applications for TUEs for testosterone replacement therapy, effective immediately. Any athlete that applies for a license to fight, whether boxing, kickboxing, or mixed martial arts, will now be unable to even apply for an exemption. If said athlete has a TUE from any other state, the commission will not recognize it. Check back shortly. More details to follow…http://www.mmaweekly.com/breaking-nevada-state-athletic-commission-votes-unanimously-to-ban-testosterone-replacement-therapy And STILL the UFC Middleweight Champion of the world........... | |

| So who should Weidman defend his belt with after vitor? hahaha I kid, I kid.
I am interested in seeing how Vitor performs without the TRT treatment and see if it really makes a difference. But this is really good news for me cause now I don't have to worry about Bisping losing any more fights now!!!

| My first thought was "Yeah, but the other commissions might still allow it, so fighters will still be on it some of the time". Well, you can scratch that; the article above has been updated to include the following (among other additions) - Quote :
- Upon finding out about the vote, White and the UFC issued a statement supporting the commission’s decision.
“The Ultimate Fighting Championship fully supports the decision made today by the Nevada State Athletic Commission regarding the immediate termination of therapeutic use exemptions (TUE) for testosterone replacement therapy (TRT),” said White. “We believe our athletes should compete based on their natural abilities and on an even playing field. “We also intend to honor this ruling in international markets where, due to a lack of governing bodies, the UFC oversees regulatory efforts for our live events. We encourage all athletic commissions to adopt this ruling.”

| The only thing I would say that gets to me about this. Is that Bisping has been saying this for some time now and people always said oh your just saying that cause you're sour about losing to such and such. yet no one who has been clean from trt has been able to knock him out. just vitor and hendo both trt users. Now that the commission has settled it it's now a great idea and fans are saying this should have done a long time ago. I guess if any one but bisping would have said it maybe it would have been acknowledged quicker.
No real relevance here I'm just venting for my boy!!!!

| I don't know, I mean just taking the small sample size we have here on this site, I'd say we were all split about 50/50 in being for/against TRT. As far as Bisping, he's like the boy who cried wolf; he talks so much crap and says so much insulting stuff about other fighters, it's hard to tell when he's actually making a valid point. Maybe for the future he should flip it and argue for something he is actually against, then maybe he could get the outcome to fall his way. | |

| I still stand by stance that Bisping and rockhold fights should have been no contests. I would say Henderson's fight too but he was also given trt exemption so I call that fight a clean sweep. I will never understand why it took them this long to get this done. Even more so I still don't get how testing positive for weed should be a no contest but trt up till now was okay. | |

| Vitor said he is going to make a go of it without TRT, we'll see...
Kind of sucks for Weidman. I think Vitor would kill Machida, but I think Machida is a much more difficult matchup for Weidman...

| I think we are going to have a new champ. If there is any type of striker that can handle elite wrestlers it's Machida. | |

| Machida handles wrestlers well aye? The guy who has a black belt in BJJ but almost got tapped by the submission wizard Tito Ortiz...
If Weidman doesn't win this standing, he will absolutely submit The Dragon on the ground. Who wants in on Av/Sig bets!?

| Yeah, machida is screwed on the ground on this fight. Machida will need to keep distance and use his ticky-tack kicks and jabs. | |

| I do agree if Weidman can get Machida to the ground he will have trouble but the problem is getting Machida to the ground first. he has very good TDD and is very elusive. I see Weidman going after Machida and Machida will back peddle and some times do a quick in and out of the pocket combo to the point Machida will catch Weidman with a really good shot or he will dance around for UD victory. I am leaning towards a UD victory cause I have yet to see Weidman truly rocked from a punch. to be honest Vitor was going to be the measuring stick for that. cause if Weidman could take vitors best shots and still keep coming well lets just say I don't think that would leave many left who might be able to do it. | |

| Yeah I'm with Gecko; Machida in the quintessential bad matchup for a fighter like Weidman. I thought Vitor was sort of a tough matchup for Weidman to deal with, but Lyoto is that much more so. If there's one thing Machida does better than Silva (or almost anyone for that matter), it's staying disciplined. He's not gonna get sloppy, and if he doesn't, I don't really see any way Weidman can beat him. | |

He was also the first fighter to really test Jones in any way. I think Machida's stock actually went up after he fought Jones, not down. He's also beaten a reigning champ at the time who had a stronger wrestling base than both Jones and Weidman when he floored Rashad. I don't think anyone could justifiably make an argument that he has ever had any trouble dealing with wrestlers.

| On machidas behalf....strong wrestlers he's beat.....rashad, randy and Tito.....also, I don't agree with the rampage split decision at all.....so arguably he's beaten as many good wrestlers as he's lost to....he's also got sumo background... | |

| He also beat Henderson, Bader, and Munoz. So he has lost to 3 wrestlers (got stopped once) and defeated 6 (stopped 4 of them). I'd say he's got a pretty good track record against wrestlers. If anything, he seems to do better than most fighters against wrestlers, not worse. Come on Chrom, this argument carries no weight and you know it. Lets debate the merit of former Pride fighters or something instead. | |
