i have absolutely no idea how bigfoot survived. hunts punishment survival alone was already legendary, but it was still sort of within the limits of expected, from him. what bigfoot survived is inhuman, nobody can withstand so many flush shot from hunt, i was just expecting him to drop unconscious, but he kept standing. that ref stoppage might have helped him a bit too.
i had a distinct feeling that there was some brain damage happening right in front of me.

the most exciting fight i remember in a long time. its been a while since i was pacing around and almost couldnt watch.

My wife hasn't watched UFC with me in a long time...I mean she'll sit there and kind of half pay attention during TUF...but man when this fight started getting insane she actually put the laptop down and started really focusing on it...heck she even said "I can't go to bed now I have to see the outcome". That in itself tells me it was an epic battle!

And yeah I kept thinking to myself that bigfoot's head had to be completely numb after a while.

I still don't like the whole majority draw scoring criteria (if Hunt wins on one card and its a draw on two cards, how does he not win?), but I don't really have a huge problem with it this time. How many times have we all said "Nobody really won or lost that fight. That's the kind of fight that should have been scored a draw!".
Well, for once, I think the judges got it right. This was a draw if I ever saw one.

That fight was so fucking badass! WAR Hunt! I also agree, I thought Bigfoot got saved by the ref stopping to check his cut and if it save him from finally getting stopped it definitely helped get him the draw, because he came back to life and fought back after that. But anyways what a sick fucking fight!

And was it me or was Hunt intentionally blocking punches with the top of his head at some points. Like old school bar knuckles boxing style, haha. He was backed against the cage a few times and instead of raising his hands up to block Silvas punches he was actually lowering his head (or looking to the floor) to block them with the top of his head, haha.

Yeah it has always bothered me too.
It's hard to get our brains to function this way, because we see one win and two draws and think well thats a win then. But I guess you just kind of have to think of it like a split decision. If two guys say fighter A won and another said fighter B won fighter A wins. So if two judges say its a draw and one judge says fighter A won, its a draw. I guess they are saying if two judges saw draw and one didnt you go with the "majority"

Yeah, I suppose that's one way to look at it. But like I said, it doesn't really bother me too much in this instance; this was a draw if I ever saw one. To be honest, I'm actually happy it was scored a draw. Now instead of a "controversial" decision one way or the other, we just have an awesome fight where nobody really cares who won it.

Looks like Hunt broke his hand in two places during the fight. Not sure which round, but it might help explain how in the hell Bigfoot made it out of there alive.

yeah, i was just about to post info about hunt breaking his hand. i remember reading it was in 2nd or 3rd round. i saw the x-rays and two fingers were fully broken. he was still throwing that hand at easter island statue that bigfoot calls a head. what a monster (hunt). and it does look like he was ropa-doping silva at the end, letting him hit the top of his head and then landing that big left to the jaw. bigfoot got staggered back butt kept going forward like a fucking zombie. unbelievable. i mean, nobody can survive so many hits from hunt, he kills large animals with those fists. someone told me that he hunts whales by punching them, thus the reason for all those washed up whales on the shores.
the only problem i have with the whole thing is that silva made excuses in the interview after, siting a back injury for his performance, but ill give him benefit of doubt since im sure he wasnt really all there. im not even sure he will ever be after that.
and props to hunt for not mentioning the broken hand. he did not make any excuses.

Yeah I told my wife during the fight that Hunt's hand must be broken, because he was throwing some of those elbows from a decent distance away.

Are the judges scorecards out there anywhere? I'd love to see how the three judges scored the individual rounds. I assume Silva got a 10-8 the round he had full mount and Hunt was essentially saved by the bell. Guessing that was the round that forced the draw.

Kind of tough to read, but believe it or not, this is actaully the best one I could find.

The two judges scoring the draw gave HUNT a 10-8 round in the 5th. They also gave Silva the first two rounds.
It's almost like they thought, "SHIT, we can't let Hunt lose this fight."

I thought it was pretty clear Hunt won the 2nd round.
