Anderson Silva Shuts Down Potential Vitor Belfort Rematch From Ever Happening

Since the loss Belfort has gone undefeated at middleweight but for Silva that’s not enough to convince him that a rematch is the right step to make.

“I don’t think so,” Silva told Combate about the possibility of fighting Belfort again. “What was supposed to be done was done. Of course, we are employees of the UFC, but I don’t like to fight against Brazilians. I don’t see that possibility.”

He was just answering a question. He has the right to give his opinion, right?. And it's not like he said "No. Never. No matter what." Sounds more to me like "I'd rather not".

Yeah, that is a strange stance to take, considering I don't think I've ever heard an American say they wouldn't fight another fighter becuase he's from the States.
But it's not like he's ducking Vitor. Shit, it's not like he's even saying he's going to be the champ in the first place and be in a position to make that decision. This is rhetorical on so many levels.

Meh ... he beat Vitor... Vitor is a steroid cheat who is now using TRT (Brazillian Sanctioned).... probably won't get a TUE if he fights up in the States.... Lots of other guys I'd like to see Silva fight before this "rematch".

I would actually love to see them fight again.

I believe Vitor is the second best striker in MMA history (am only saying that because Silva got the quick KO last time with the front kick).
